V11 broke after 5 months

I really thought all those stories about the V11 breaking randomly were exaggerated... Today mine broke while I was solving normally. I haven't dropped it once, I don't use stackmat, I thought I was in the clear. Then it broke. Don't buy the V11 if you're not willing to take the risk guys.

Wish this was posted last week - I just got a V11 and a V100 yesterday. I hope they don't both break - they're both really nice, although I think I like the V100 slightly better.

Durability issues are why I don't own an RS3 V5. My friend does, and I think the performance is pretty good, but it's not a risk I'm willing to take as someone who is clumsy and drops his cubes all the time.

I also want to mention that when I was new to cubing I bought a TV3 which broke after a few months. I honestly wish I had bought something cheaper for my first speed cube, like a meilong or warrior or something.

I’ve done 2.6k+ timed solves on my V11 and it still hasn’t broke. Maybe I just have a lighter turning style compared to the majority of cubers (my main before was gan 16)

I honestly think it might be a batch issue.
Maybe some batches of cubes have a poorer production quality while others are better

Ehh gonna talk about my experiences with cubes and durability.

Dayan and Gan are the only cubes I can confidently say that you shouldn't have to worry too much about breaking.
Moyu has good metal cores, but I will almost never by a post 2023 moyu cube with a plastic core. The Rs3m v5, as someone who only just recently got it, has significantly better durability (by the looks of it) then when it was first released in 2023. It is the only puzzle for some reason I cant stop dropping.
YJ goes mostly unnoticed till recently so there isn't much data to prove whether or not it is prone to breaking but based on the beta it doesn't have any major breaking issues. Unless you count the squan v2, I wouldn't worry.

I’ve done 20k+ solves on my V11 though, so just be aware that it might still break in the future.

If this one breaks I'm getting a tornado v3/v4

my TV3 broke 2 days before a comp
yeah that was horror
but I switched to my GAN XS and still got a 10.16 average and 7.50 single (both were PRs, the 7.50 beat my PR by like 1+ second)

Well, the tv3 was fragile, but the tv4 and 5 fixed that significantly. But still not the most durable.

Mine broke as well during a swag u perm when the core snapped
