The Uber Monthly 3x3 10,000 Cube Marathon!!!

I do, oh say 100-200 solves per day; so 300 wouldn't be TOO extreme. I will do a round or two of the 10k/month before school starts again in the fall. If I stick with this, I GARUNTEE, me being sub-12 by the end of the summer. (I am just becoming sub-20 now, after almost 3 months of cubing.)

I saw this thread and then started laughing and crying on the floor...

I used to solve probably around 100-150 times a day, now I'm lucky if I get 50 done in a week! Much less 10,000! :D

I think if people are going to do this that motivation might become an issue towards the end of the month. People might want to post every couple of days about how many solves they have done. You don't have to post the average so far or anything, but at least say something like:

"I'm at 4,000 solves"

or

"Yay! Made it past 6,000!"

That could serve to make sure everyone stays in it the whole month, but also it will help others competing to stay motivated as well if they see they are falling behind a bit on their pace.

Great idea, Chris!

I kinda recommend using a standalone timer like Prisma or CCT for this - you're a lot less likely to lose your times that way. That version of qqTimer will indeed save your times between sessions, but since it uses cookies, there's a danger that you might accidentally delete them and thus wipe your session.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I have a feeling that version won't save more than about 700 times, so that could be an issue.

Should it really be 10,000 solves? On average there is 30 days in a month and there is 10,000 solves you have to do. 10,000/30=333.333333 a day. That is still quite a lot per day. Personally I think it should be 1000 solves but whatever. I suppose I will do like 3000-4000 solves but oh well.

protip: Don't use CCT.

I remember trying to do a huge average with it once and it started lagging quite severely, to the point that it was unusable. I don't think it would be able to handle 10,000. Maybe this calls for a souped-up version of qqtimer that allows the import of scrambles? ;)

I had once a problem with CCT, when I reached the 4000 solves it stopped saving the sessions, every time I opened the CCT it said 3998, and it doens't matter if I did a session with just 5 solves, it doesn't save it. I don't know if this only happened to me but I had to redownload the program and start timing again... I haven't reached the 4000 again so I don't know if will happen again.
