The Solve Critique Thread

The solves are really consistent compared to what I usually get.
I've been getting sub 14 ao100 but I still get lots of 16-18 sec ao5 and ao12 and it's really frustrating. Single ao100 had times between 8.xx and 21.xx. :fp

Your TPS is quite fast during all the solves. I don't see too many pauses during the solves, but I suggest slowing down a bit just to look ahead better and eliminate those pauses as much as you can.

Ok, here's a fridrich solve of mine i'd like critiqued. scramble white top green front:R' L2 U' D2 B D' B' R B' L' U2 F2 L D2 L' B2 L2 D2 L' D2
z2
cross: D' L U' F' U' R B' R' D2
F2L 1: U (R U R' U') R U R' y' R U R'
F2L 2: U' R' U' R U y' L' U L
F2L 3: U R U' R' F R' F' R
F2L 4: U2 y R' U R U' y R U R'
OLL: U (F R U R' U' F') U' (F' r U R' U' r' F R)
PLL: U' x' (R U') (R' D) (R U R' D') (R U R' D) (R U') (R' D') F'

Any help is appreciated :)

Don't do two cube rotations during one f2l pair and learn to insert pairs on the back side.

I couldn't get the solutiotion to work with the scramble, but I think the last pair could be solved with L U L' U L U L', one move and two rotations shorter.

Pauses, pauses, and more pauses. Try to never stop turning. Also several times I saw you do like U2 U2' or R R', stuff like that. Don't do that. also practice OLL and PLL recognition

I see a lot of people doing RR' or U2U2' in an effort to not pause, and yeah tis not good to do that. Try practising with thy metronome at very slow speeds so it actually matters if you U2U2'

I'm guessing that's quite a good solve for you? You have some very interesting wrist movements, and actually letting go of the cube a few times. You really need to work on your finger tricks to give the solve more fluidity. You look to be rushing the solve, causing thou to do silly things like the U4 on the pll. I know it gets said again an again, but slow down and look ahead. Don't make any turns untill you know exactky what move you are going to be doing. It's not a bad solve, but if you got rid of all the finicky pauses, you could easily shed 5 seconds.

Thanks for the critique, I will work on this, however I've had a lot of better solves than this (with my pb being 12 sec nl)

Hey man, you do a bunch of half-rotations to check where pieces are during your ZZ solves. But the truth is, you can actually use process of elimination to identify sticker colors without turning the cube. Try a few solves where you don't allow yourself to see the back of the cube and practice your "cube awareness."

With time/practice in your color-scheme, you'll start to get a feeling as to which pieces belong where, simply out of your peripheral vision. This will grant you the look-ahead that you are obviously struggling with presently.

So what if I make weird breathing noises when I cube...
I did this to try out the angle. I think it worked pretty well.

Scramble: L D2 l' R2 d l2 u2 R2 f U2 F2 r2 F2 U B' R L2 r2 B' l2 u l B F' d F f' B l R2 B' l2 R U r2 l' u2 r' f' L' D' b F2 U2 B2 d R' l F2 L' R' B' u D2 d2 U' f2 U' L F

That may have been my fastest 3x3 stage ever.
