I've only been following cubing for a few weeks now, but I'm constantly amazed by how often world records seem to be getting broken, and as I look back I'm seeing tons were set in the last year.
So here's my question. What is the general state of all these records? Are there lots that people are expecting to be beaten very soon (just the right cuber hasn't had a chance), or are there some records that have been long standing and generally people think are unbeatable... or are there some new techniques that people are working on that in the coming months could demolish some records?
I read someone say that they don't expect anyone to be able to beat Haiyan at 3x3 BLD, are there other records that have one person who's head and shoulders above his competitors?
I think a voice of experience about what we should expect of the coming years would be really fascinating.
Thanks.
