I'm going to revive this long dead thread by asking peoples' opinions on why the color scheme is blue/green, red/orange, and white/yellow. In choosing opposites, shouldn't we be looking for the biggest possible contrast? Wouldn't something like purple/flouro green and pink/orange be much better for that than what most cubes have now? Just thinking about it, this seems like it would be a significant advantage. On the outside, changing a color scheme to this seems like it would be very beneficial. If this is not a good idea, someone please explain why it's not. And if it is, then why do nearly all cubers use the standard color scheme? Is there a reason other than a dislike for restickering puzzles?
