Why did so many people vote for CubeSmith? The stickers aren't cut, a worse quality than other shops, and also a smaller variety of shades, compared to the cubicle, for example. I guess it's because the website has been around for much longer, and so it has become the most popular shop and probably since badmpehisto recommended it aswell in one of his most popular vids.

The stickers aren't cut? Wha...? They have been for me.

Also, the cubicle has more shades than this?

Worse quality? Most (if not all) source their vinyl from the same place.

I personally like cubesmith for the shades. It essentially comes down to the shade of colors and the cuts. I love cubesmith's bright orange, which I haven't found elsewhere and is why I still use their stickers. I do wish they had more fitted cuts like the cubicle, but that orange is keeping cubesmith stickers on my main cubes.

My bad, I meant cut for speedcubes with holes in between centers/corners/edges.

Let's be honest: which speedcuber actually uses all those shiny stickers they have? I would much prefer having a bigger choice of blues, yellows, etc. like the cubicle or puzzleaddictions have. And personally I like the lighter fluro orange much better.

As for quality my cubesmith stickers seemed to chip a lot, where as my cubicle stickers have been in great condition since I bought them. But this could also be because of the special cut stickers, since they won't catch on your nail as much as the ones that aren't.

You can get the same orange from izo stickers, they just call it "fluorescent orange-red" :)

I haven't checked his stickers in a while. I'm glad they stock them now. Unfortunately, Izo stickers are just a little smaller than cubesmith. Otherwise, I'd switch.

As far as quality, are your cubicle stickers brights? I find the fluorescent stickers don't chip nearly as much as normal shades. They last much longer no matter where they come from.

I do wish cubesmith had fitted stickers. I just bought a bunch of cubicle stickers because I think their fitted options look good. Just wish they had that flor red orange.

Oh I forgot to add: thecubespecialists also have that orange in stock, it's the #TCS set. The store is found in Germany however, so I think shipping will cost more than an American store I believe.

If you guys are re-stickering shengshou products with IZO half brights, just swap to custom colours and order something in the place of white, red and maybe blue stickers. Red is the exact same, white too obviously and blue is very close ( Izo's blue is a bit lighter/brighter, dont know if different enough to make a difference). Otherwise the stickers were awesome.

Next time I'll be ordering half brights I'll go fluorescent green/orange/yellow and then 3 different shades of red/blue for a wider collection to choose from. The price is the same after all.

Speaking of orange - I like paler oranges like Cubesmith bright (NOT fluoro) orange. I was looking on the cubicle earlier to create a custom sticker set, and I can't tell the difference between the three oranges, or at least tell which one is closest to the Cubesmith 'bright' orange.

I'm trying to put together a kinda pastel set of stickers, as I find most blues a bit too dark and fluoro orange a bit too red. Similar to the MoYu stickers, which are by far the best stock stickers I've seen. Anyhoo, my 2 cents:

I currently have Cubesmith stickers on my main (black Zhanchi), Cubicle 1/2 brights on a white Zhanchi, Z stickers on a Fangshi, so a good mix.

Z 1/2 bright stickers are IDENTICAL to Cubesmith in both colour and quality.

Cubicle fitted stickers are very nice, and fit Dayan and Fangshi (and presumably Moyu, altho I've had no need to resticker mine yet) very nicely.

I'm quickly building up a library of stickers, and maybe one day I'll find a single store that sells all the tones of colours I'd ideally have in a single set, but for now my cubes will stay a hybrid of different sticker sets, till I find what works for me! :-)

Ive done some testing with cubesmith, izo stickers and oracle from lightake.com

Cubesmith - Quite a lot of different shades, last a long time
Oracle - Not many shades but they last forever
Izo - Lots of nice shades, but they does not last long at all

First: It's ORACAL/ORAFOL not Oracle.

The quality difference could be that Izo uses "641 Economy Cal" for some shades. While Cubesmith is only using the "651 Intermediate Cal".
The fluorescent stickers are "6510 Fluorescent Cast" and is ~50% thicker than the 641/651 films.

edit:
After checking some of my Cubesmith stickers, I did find some "641" (blue/red/white) ones also.

Whatever brands and thicknesses they use, I´ve tried them all and the difference is really big, so stop being so theoretical ;)

Cubesmith's "Bright Orange" = Orange Flourescent (and also Cubesmith Orange Flourescent = Red Orange Fluorescent).

Cubicle offer Orange, Fluro Orange, and Light Orange. From what you're saying, I'd assume the colour I want is Fluro Orange? Doesn't help that the images for 'Orange' and 'Light Orange' on the Cubicle website are practically identical:

'Orange' is, possibly, very slightly more red!

I think the Cubicle colour picker will probably allow me to set up my perfect sticker set, but it will take some work.

With all the placebos and superstitions around things that involve speedcubing and the community I can't help but try and be as objective as I can :D Also to be completely honest I kinda want to believe that cubesmith is a ripoff.

5BLD uses silver stickers sometimes. He used them on his UWR Ao100 and I think he still had them on at the Cambridge Open a few weeks ago.
