Speedsolving wiki: WCA delegate

When I was in Barcelona I moved my 2x2's side about 5 degrees and remember I'm not allowed to so I moved it back and the judge said nothing. I thought it was fine so I did my solve got a good time and he told me dnf. I told him I barley turned it but I got a dnf any way. Was he suppose to dnf me or not?

Thanks, Tim. I added some missing delegates from the page, but not these three: Hao Wang (China), Xiaobo Jin (China), Yiliang Lu (China). I've seen them as only as organizers. Have they been delegates for any competition?

The wiki list also contains many delegates not listed on the WCA page (see for example United States).

Awesome job with the wiki Macky. It is people like you that make the wiki what it is today.

For anyone reading this that doesn't know, anyone can edit/modify/add to the wiki - that is the beauty of having a wiki to compile a vast amount of information. If you think you have something worthwhile to contribute and it doesn't exist yet, please feel free to contribute. However, please search and think before you contribute so that your contribution is worthwhile.

Thanks, Macky :) By the way, I almost did just add it myself but felt it might be weird in the context that it is about me. It's the same way that there are errors on my personal Wiki page. I've corrected some things in the past, but I feel it's generally not good that one of the listed editors of my page, and more than once, is me :( Next time for something simple like this I'll just edit it.

Stanford Fall 2009 lists Lucas Garron as delegate, although there were other WCA delegates at the competition. Should he be listed as a delegate, or did one of the other delegates do the delegating?

"Delegate" in California doesn't mean much, because there are so many; I don't need to be a delegate unless I ever help run a remote competition. Tyson asked me if I wanted to be listed as the delegate, and I said yes. Since then, the status of being a delegate has become significantly more formal.

Off-topic: You'll need to be more descriptive with what actually happened. I'm not sure if you were correcting the alignment of the puzzle during inspection or if you picked up your puzzle and it was so loose that it just started to turn 5 degrees and then you fixed the alignment -5 degrees to make it square again.

Did the judge say what it was a DNF? In any case, it's unlikely that this discussion will change anything now but in the future you should try to avoid performing moves during inspection and you should ask a judge why a DNF was given when it's not clear. That way the dispute can be resolved there and then.

On-topic: Perhaps information on the wiki page could be incorporated into a query to generate a table of past and present WCA delegates with groupings to show the competitions that they've been to and the period/region. :-)

Tim.

I made some changes to the page, first I removed the large table of contents (__NOTOC__) and made a smaller leaving the contrys out. I also made all names clickable, even if there is no page there yet, this way you don't have to go back and change the page each time someone makes a page about the person. I also moved Anders to Sweden, he is still a Swede and is in Asia for a three year period (mabye he will stay there longer when the three years have passed but as far as I know). This is like Eivind who is listed for Norway but lives in Switzerland.

If my changes was wrong somehow, then just revert the page to what it was before (click the history button).

Isn´t Anders Larsson still a Swedish delegate?

True in the sense that I am still a Swedish citizen. But what is the purpose of labelling a country to each person? Is it to show that person's citizenship or is it to be informative to organisers where to find a delegate?
