SEE is better than nothing, but at this point the lack of integrated registration is a pain as an organizer. I organized a comp at the beginning of last month with Feet, and it worked out but would have been a lot easier if it had been integrated. Plus when people are looking for competitions to go to, why should they have to poke around multiple websites and pages to find out what events are going to be held? The WCA competition page already has a really good system for showing what events are going to be at a competition and even filtering competitions by event.

As far as a tier of events that cannot be held at championships, that’s just silly. I’ve never organized a championship, maybe there’s some big switch that flips and it’s totally different, but I doubt it. Organizing local comps I have very rarely heard any complaints about not having an event, and it wouldn’t bother me if I did: I do the best I can to hold events that people want, and requests or complaints are one of the best ways to judge what those events are for future competitions. Having a tier of events that must be held at championships and a second tier that may be held at championships is reasonable, but banning any event at any competition is ridiculous.

Tier 1 events, that must be included at championships, and must not have fewer rounds that tier 2 events should include:
- 3x3

Tier 2 events: that may be included at championships and may not more rounds than tier 1 include:
- 2x2
- 4x4
- 5x5
- 6x6
- 7x7
- 3BLD
- FMC
- OH
- Clock
- Megaminx
- Pyraminx
- Skewb
- Square-1
- 4BLD
- 5BLD
- MBLD
- 3x3 With Feet
- 4x4 With Feet
- Curvy Copter
- Kilominx
- Redi Cube
- Any other event that has been held at at least 3 WCA competitions, to applicable WCA standards, and for which adequate standards and scrambles can be written or obtained.

feet . . . organizers have legitimate reasons to not hold the event.

I have yet to hear any, but that’s beside the point.

I think it was mostly because people don't want to scramble a cube someone touched their feet to and for other hygienic reasons.
Yeah, except objectively speaking feet are actually more hygienic than hands, and guess what every competition with Feet has: people who compete in 3x3 With Feet, and are capable of scrambling!

They don't care about fact, they care about their own opinion. If they think feet are gross, then no study is going to change their mind

Maybe it has to do with the smell then... I am honestly not completely sure why they removed it.
The real story is that they just didn’t like it. At least as far back as 2014 the need for a standard for adding and removing events was discussed, and then the issue was dropped until they took Feet out. Then people said “but there should be a standard!” And they said “yeah, we had this idea a while back, that’s the next thing to work on.” But it’s a lot easier to change things if there is no standard to meet, so they took Feet out and took up consideration of a standard later, rather than the other way around.

One event that should be in tier 1 is 17x17 multiblind FMC underwater one-eared.
