Alright, this is my first ever post on the forums, don't go too hard on me :D

So I recently started cubing less than a month ago, and I learned how to from Pogobat. I quickly realized how addictive it can be. I'll never forget the feeling I had when I was finally able to even solve it, even if it did take probably ten minutes. I've come a pretty long way, it used to take me 20 seconds just to make the cross, now I'm getting the part of the second layer done in about that time, and I have a PB of 47 seconds (I got really lucky though, the LL ended up solving itself). I would say I average around 1:05, 1:10, I don't time solves very often, but thats what I tend to get around when I do. I have recorded times under a minute maybe 5 or 6 times.

So, based on the information given above, what would be the best approach for me to take for me to reach these goals?

-Be able to average under 50 seconds
-Have a PB of below 30 seconds
-Beat the 3x3 world record (just kidding)

I've already kinda've dabbled in Fridrich F2l a little, I've been using the tutorials from badmephisto, I've gotten the basic idea of it, but I can't do it as fast as I can with the beginners method, I probably just need more practice. But, are there any alternative methods I should consider learning? Because the sheer number of algorithms I would have to learn with Fridrich seems very intimidating to me, but I haven't been able to find any very good tutorials for other methods. So, please comment what you think I should do, and if you know of any good tutorials for other methods, a link to them would be much appreciated.

Dayan49 - The most important thing is practice. When I looked at F2L, I thought that it was too difficult and I should just stick to the beginner's method. But after developing my look ahead and turn speed, my average times dropped dramatically.
Keep watching badmephisto's videos and read other beginner's guides on the site to get an idea of what you will do.

If you want to do something different, try Roux - personally I find it much more enjoyable than CFOP, but I'm too lazy to switch to it fully. (Links for Roux tutorials given by kunparekh18)
