Hi. My name is Isabel, I’m 15 years old and I’m from the UK. I can solve all WCA puzzles other than blindfolded events (I am currently learning 3 blind). My PB 3x3 single is 13.46 seconds. My favourite events are squan, OH and 3x3. In terms of unofficial events, I love doing challenges with my friend who also cubes, such as solving a 3x3 using one hand each, factory solves and team blind. I also enjoy the Guildford challenge (and mini Guildford challenge) and doing 3x3 with feet. I want to learn FTO. We also enjoy racing each other, especially with crazy restrictions such as solving mirror cubes behind our backs or off-hand OH. I main the YS3M frosted ball core for 3x3 and the MGCs for all other puzzles, apart the QiYi clock and the GAN enhanced pyra and skewb. I want to get the RS3M v5 ball core for OH.

Outside of cubing, I love maths and I want to be a research mathematician when I am older. I also love reading - I am currently reading a book about maths (number theory specifically) called Elliptic Tales by Avner Ash and Robert Gross. I also enjoy rowing and long-distance cycling. I like creating music - I play flute and piano, and am part of various music ensembles, including orchestra, choir, samba band, recorder group and flute ensemble. I also enjoy listening to classical music (my favourite composer is probably either Bach or Prokofiev). I don’t like most modern music, other than songs by AJR and Twenty One Pilots. I also like listening to film scores sometimes, especially something like Star Wars which is really good for motivating me when I am working.

I’m excited to meet everyone!

yo, welcome to the nerdfest. good stuff.

I love starwars too. here's a question: do you use yau or hoya? hoya is the dark side...and yau the light!

great to see another mgc fan.

cool that you have a lot of in person cubing friends thats rare.

my brother also plays piano, but he does 20's and 30's jazz stuff.

good luck on your cubing journey and your hobbies!!

I use yau for 4x4 and 5x5 and redux for 6x6 and higher. I’ve never learnt Hoya, although I do think it would be fun to learn one day. I’m not sure how much point there is though - from what I understand it’s just as good as yau.
