Recent threads on the homepage

I am in the process of making the site more mobile friendly, which is long overdue. Tapatalk worked great, but now support for Android is lagging, and I don't like the fact we rely on a third party app for mobile browsing. The mobile themes (m.speedsolving.com) have some issues which are being fixed now. The homepage of speedsolving.com isn't mobile friendly, and I'm in the process of resolving this.

A couple things I'm asking of the community:
1) What are the main features you like of the homepage? Recent threads, forum navigation, welcome bar w/ post count, etc?
2) Do you prefer to use the What's New page on the navigation or browse the forum by category?
3) What suggestions do you have to improve the homepage of the site?
4) What suggestions do you have to improve the mobile theme (m.speedsolving.com)?

Any feedback you have, good or bad, is appreciated. Thanks.

I use "New posts" almost exclusively and I'd really like it if all the threads I'm subscribed to that have unread posts appeared first.

I use tapatalk (iphone) almost exclusively as my method of viewing the forum now. I like the ease of navigation and I mostly use the timeline view to replicate the homepage view when viewing the forum on the web.

If the new mobile site had a good homepage view that showed threads in the order of most recently posted in that would be the main feature I would use. It's nice if it can show more than 10 threads in this view, but that's not a deal breaker for me.
