Really need HELP ON CUBE ROTATION

So? Those are actually EASIER for me...

Stan Lee: 'Nuff Said. OR bolded.

"easier" means easier to execute (not kill :P)... And yes... Basically..

*pulls out a gu-* nevermind.

i really dont believe you, but im glad that you will never, ever need to cube rotate during a solve.

right?

Give the lad a cookie. :D

One cube rotation. From cross-> F2L... That's it :D...

Oh wait, *snatches cookie*.

You MUST learn your bottom cross; or even the side cross if it's easier to build (not construct :P)...

I'm doing this OLL and it goes like R U (X') U' l' R' U' l' U L F'
No it doesn't.
but happen it DOES have a parenthetic though?
You were supposed to reply "Yes it does, look here's where I got it from: ..."

I fell off my chair again...
Pochmann never fails to make me laugh...

That alg doesn't work.

I saw it in my book called "Speedsolving the Cube" thats why.

Who wrote that?
dude, there are HUNDREDS of lists of algorithms on the internet that use x, y, and z (notice the small letters, and NO PARENTHESES!!! (fail at spelling)) rotations, and hundreds of glossarys...

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=cube+notation

okay, so you find (z2 y) RUR'U' less 'easy' than BDB'D'?

Haha!

And then you get algs that are loaded with B and D turns all in a row.

Haha! No cube rotations is a very hard position to defend, but congratulations to the defenders anyway.

And to Stefan Pochmann: NIce one.

There's only one alg in the OLL section close enough to yours- Case #101
R U (x') U' R U l' R' U' l' U l F'
Thanks for the confirmation.

Now the correct alg can simply be watched here:
http://thearufam.brinkster.net/cube/wrapplet.asp

It's funny... once you do things right, they suddenly work!

I find cube rotations like that pointless... Its stupid and a waste of time. I just edit the algs to no cube rotations :P...
What are your solving times?

...and here is my answer.

weekly competition 2009-01:
3x3x3 Average of 5:
01:02.77 (cat jumped on my lap during solve!!), 00:55.55, 00:41.40, 00:52.03, 00:35.84=00:49.52

2 days ago:
Simple LL... Simple F2L... 8.07 seconds... :P...

1 day ago:
To me the fastest YOU can go is speedcubing. Be it 8 seconds or 3 minutes. Its speedsolving... (me personally 20 seconds)

i doubt you are going to get a very accurate answer from him.

I've gotten a lot faster but I get lots of lockups with my cube so approx. 20 seconds... Escher... That 8 sec one was from the simple scramble page -.- ... Idiot...

there is absolutely no need to call me an idiot.

you've gone from 50s avg of 5 to '20s average' in three weeks, which is why im so dubious, seeing as i haven't every heard of anybody improving like that.

ever since 'the 2x2 method' incident, ive been wary of the times you've been posting.

"why do you even give a **** " about me asking questions?

there is no need to get defensive, im just curious as to how you improved so quickly, and how you can still get decent times without rotating (and for that matter, how you have good enough lookahead to see every 2x2 solve to the end).

Why do you even give a **** how fast I am, if I rotate and ANYTHING else?
Because you asked a question, and he is trying to help you.

By the way, it's not a good idea to get angry on this forum. If you do, you will GUARANTEED be totally owned by Stefan.

does the pro cubers use cube rotation? =/
Yes. Not too many though. About 2-3 on the F2L, and 1-3 on the LL. (correct me if i'm wrong, Stefan;))

I'm not really a pro cuber, because I do too many cube rotations. about 5-6 on the F2L...

time an average of 5 of each of those triggers x6 and show me that the BD trigger is 'easier' for you (assuming that 'easier' means faster).
During a solve, if you do a z2 at the beginning you most likely have to do a z2 at the end, the y not so much. Can you do z2 y RUR'U' z2 more easily (and/or faster) than BDB'D'?

well, i would say so - perhaps my technique isnt brilliant when it comes to B and D turns, but i (like so many other people) can execute RUR'U' very fast, and i dont find reaching around the cube much of a problem.

personally, i have to regrip more with BDB'D' than with RUR'U' - the LH does the first two turns (with a position change), and the RH the last two (similarly).

EDIT
to trying to speedcube : actually, i originally just took offense with post no 16, he didn't ask any questions. it was when answering stefan's question that i brought up the possible disparity in his times, that i'd noticed earlier (see the 'super lucky scramble' thread).

Yes, true. I'm sorry for that. I thought it was you who posted this thread. I should have double-checked that first.

Anyway, you did share with us that you think cube rotations are stupid and pointless, and Escher, Stefan and me are all trying to explain to you why they aren't stupid. Then please don't get angry if Escher is just curious about your times dropping so damn fast. And I am curious too. I wish I could do that :(.
