Question during Rubik's Magic Solving

Is solving the Rubik's Magic while flat on the surface allowed during competitions?

Well, the rules says it's not but... everybody does it for Master Magic so it's OK also for Magic I guess.

I think that rule got to change and only exist for OH, puzzles like Megaminx and aspecially Pyraminx Crystal are better solved with the puzzle on the table, it must be allowed.

I just went through the rules, searching for "magic", "flat" and "pick" (as in pick up) but I couldn't find anything that says you are required to pick up the puzzle.

This is in the general rules for all puzzles:

A5b) While inspecting or solving the puzzle, the competitor must not have any assistance from anyone or any object (other than the surface). Penalty: disqualification of the solve.

I think the parentesis is added later, earlier it just said "any object" with no exeptions.

My interpretation is that it is OK to have any puzzle on the table while solving it, including the minxes, that's nice

It is ok to solve it on the table, however it is typically quicker to pick it up.
