One-Answer Software Question Thread

Does anyone know a good programme to generate algorithms with? I use Cube Explorer, the 2-gen ones are very fast but the rest takes quite a long time. It would be okay if it was a small subset, but I am generating a very large number of algorithms and was wondering if there was any more efficient method.

The other option is ksolve+. But it's generalised for other puzzles so it's slower than cube explorer. Honestly, cube explorer is the fastest by quite a bit.

If you are looking for all algs in a specific subset, another option is to generate all algs for the subset at once, but I find that a pain because the easy cases completely dominate the hard cases so it's a pain to sort through them.

Also, if you aren't already, try limiting to nice 3-gen sets like RUD or RUF to speed up the search.

I have been mainly limiting it to RULD for my alg search and that seems to make it faster. But I don't want to end up with bad algs so I have been letting it go to 2-3 moves above the optimal solution.

Thank you for the response.

How do I change the color scheme of qqtimer? I've seen people using black in videos but I don't see any options anywhere? This is what I see: Capture.PNGand it really hurts my eyes. I want black. Thanks in advance.

I considered posting this in One Answer Question Software, but it's really a matter that's likely to be open for debate, so...

I've been away from cubing for about 12 months and, before going dark, had an Android phone. I've decided to make the effort to start cubing again, and now have an iPhone (for my sins).

I've been in the app store, and all of the timers look average and similar. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent iOS timer? Doesn't need algs and stuff, but I like analysis and stats, so that would be a bonus.

Most of the app store reviews say useful things like "this allows me to time solving my cube". Great. Thanks for that! Thought I might get more useful feedback here.

TIA.

[edit: looks like it got moved anyway!]

There aren't any. I'm not aware of any online big cube solvers similar to that
