One-Answer 2x2x2 Question Thread

I am not into seriously solving the 2x2, although I'll probably start soon. I use basically CFOP 3x3 algs, but I'm looking for a solution to a PLL problem I keep getting where two diagonally opposite corners are oriented and permuted, but the other two are oriented but not permuted and need to be flipped. My current solution is to do two J-perms, but that always drops me 4 seconds or so, due to the quality of my cube. Thanks!

You could use a Y-perm, or any of these algs.

Hey! We have all heard about lbl, ortega and eg, but what about those less known alternatives? They might not be as good as these but they still need some recognision, can someone tell me about these alternative methods like guimong, ss, tcll etc...

edit: and explain how each method works

2x2 methods like tcll aren't supposed to be used as an alternative, you have a variety of 6 sets+, with full EG, Tcll+ and -, and leg-1. Because you can plan out your entire 2x2 solve in inspection of your advanced, you have the option to choose between methods each solve, depending on what looks easiest or fastes

So I keep getting this one PBL case that I've looked all over the internet for and I can't find this.
I just learned ORTEGA so it's probably just me

It looks like the one where you swap UB corners and a D- layer diagonal but it's not.

So I took pictures of different angles of this case

Can anyone help?

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I just got a guoguan xinghen and for some reason, it won't set up well. I have tried a bunch of different lubes on it as well as many different tensions, but the result is always the same. The cube is very slow and sluggish regardless of my lube or tensions. Can anyone show tell me how they lubed and tensioned their xinghen

I remember when I first learn to solve, it was on the 2x2 (this was about 4 months ago.) And after 2 days I taught myself and my brother how to solve the 2x2 with the Beginners Method. The next day he supposedly got '9 seconds' as his PB, the problem being he learned how to solve the 2x2 just two days ago, was using the Beginners Method and we only had a RUBIK'S BRAND cube. I would like to know if you think this was possible or not.

The other problem I have with this is that it was hand scrambled (Because I remember he didn't understand computerized scrambles at the time.

(I'm only looking for answers from the 1st paragraph.)

It's not terribly unlikely given as 2x2 has much higher skip chances and the puzzle was hand scrambled. I would still take it with a grain of salt though. At least he didn't claim sub-5 or world class/world record times.

My PB after my first day with a 2x2 was 6 seconds (I was using a V-Cube, which is almost as bad). I was using beginners method at the time, although I had already been solving 3x3 for a few months. 2x2 is VERY luck based, especially with hand-scrambles. Unless your brother tends to frequently stretch the truth, I don't see any reason not to believe him.
