Stumbled across this thread, so here’s how I did on my 2023 cubing goals! (Massive progress incoming)

2x2 - Learn CLL and potentially full EG if I actually like the event; sub-3
I downloaded the CLL alg sheet so that basically counts

3x3 - Idk what's realistic for a year, maybe averaging 12ish?

Pretty sure I got slower than I was here, I’m around 15 now depending on if I’m warmed up. I have a 13 average in comp though

4x4 - Sub-50?

I average 1:05 ish but got a 1:00.00 average in comp.

5x5 - I don't care at all about big cubes, maybe sub-2:00?

My comp average is 2:35 and I haven’t done 5x5 outside of comp so probably somewhere around there

6x6-7x7 - Get a mean

I got a 7x7 single!

3BLD - I don't do much BLD atm, so I guess sub-2

Still no official success, but I only have had it in comp once since then unless Pegasus 2023 was actually before this post in which case I haven’t even competed in it

FMC - Consistantly sub-40

Literally have never tried it

3x3 OH - Sub-30

I actually almost did this and it was completely by accident. 30.75 average in comp!

Clock - Sub-10

I average 14ish. I DNF’d an official 10 single though so that basically counts

Megaminx - Never practice, maybe sub-2?

I did it in comp and got 2:23 average

Pyraminx - Never practice; as long as I can relearn L4E and get sub-10 I'm happy

Fluke 8.97 average go brrr

Skewb - Remove this event

fr

Square-1 - Learn to do this and maybe sub-30 if I actually like it

I learned how to do it and did it in comp twice but never got an average

4-5BLD - Get an official success

lol no

MBLD - Get whatever is comprable to a 5BLD success officially

lol no

I also want to get as many official results as possible, and if possible, a complete profile (minus 4/5BLD means)

I actually did pretty well at this. I massively overestimated how many comps I’d go to, I went to 5 and had probably less than 10 in my area. I also assumed I’d keep cubing and get remotely decent at most events, which obviously didn’t happen. Still, I grew my profile by a ton and it’s been really fun going to comps and trying new events this past year.

A lot of these goals assume I'll actually practice the event, which is far from definite,

Little did I know I wouldn’t practice at all

so I'm not expecting to get all of these,

Whew that’s good

although it's possible.

Ehhhhhhhhhh…is it though?

Here's to 2023!

It was a great year! I didn’t cube hardly at all, but all the comps I went to were a ton of fun, plus it was a great year just overall for me.
