So I was trying layer by a layer on big cubes, and I found it very hard to solve the wings intuitively. I've
been using commutators for last layer, however I kept getting odd swaps for wings, which aren't possible to solve with commutators, and I had a hard time trying to figure out what to do. Is there any way to solve odd swap wing cases intuitively on big cubes? If not, does anyone know of any algorithms I could use to solve these cases?

You should look up K4. You’ll probably be able to find what you’re looking for from there

So for wings, do you mean something like r2 B2 U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 F2 r F2 l' B2 r2?

When I do big cubes BLD, I just always set up to this specific algorithm for the last pair of wings if there's parity.
I mean something like this:

Looks like you forgot to pair one of the edges before you went into F2L 😜

If you finish edge pairing, this won't happen normally.
But if you have the case, the algs above could help you.

He is trying LBL on big cubes:
So I was trying layer by a layer on big cubes,

Ok, then he forgot to finish Edge pairing befor going into the LBL stage.
Or let's just calling it 3x3 stage, then it's neutral ;)

3x3 stage shouldn't start until all edges are paired.
The later you find an unparired edge the harder it is to repair without breaking the rest of the cube.

He’s trying to do one layer at a time, so not using anything like redux or Yau

So I think I figured out what to do: I can use the pure oll parity alg Mike Hugey provided to pair edges. I would have to do setup moves to set up edges into a slice flip slice case, and then undo the setup moves. If anyone else has the same issue, you can just do that.

do yourself a favor and use reduction or yau

For BLD, this is what I do. If you want to be able to do it fast, obviously you would need to learn several algorithms to cover all the cases that can happen with your method. But this approach works fine if you don't care about being a little slower.

I use r U2 r U2 r' U2 r U2 l' U2 r U2 r' U2 l r2 U2 r' for a pure dEdge flip of UF
