How fast do I need to be to compete in 2x2 and pyraminx? Possibly 2nd round? Maybe even cutoff

Well what comp are you going to? And cutoff for what event?

Look at psych sheet and number of people for your chances at getting into 2nd round. Cutoff is easier than 2nd round so I'm not sure why you worded it the way you did but check the schedule tab and see what cutoff is.

Look at the comp page for any upcoming comp you're going to register for and look on the Events tab to see time limits and cutoffs and how many people will advance to the next round for each event. Every comp is different.
For example, look at the comp you were already in - time limit for both 2x2 and pyra was 1:00, and there wasn't a cutoff, at least not for those 2 events. So if you can solve it in 1 minute, you could have competed. Making it to 2nd round is a different story. There were only 2 rounds of each and only 12 people advanced to the next round. In this case, with only 12 out of ~200 advancing to the next round, 12th in first round was 3.05 avg for 2x2 and 5.91 for pyra.
On upcoming comps, you can check the "psych sheets" - on the comp page, click on 'Competitors', then click on the red icon for whichever event, and you'll see the PR's of everyone registered for that event. Compare that with how many will advance to the next round and you'll get an idea of what you might need to reach the 2nd round.

check how many people advance from the first round to second. i'll use 20 as an example. check the psych sheet for who's competing in what event. if 20 people advance, then you can assume that the top 20 will make the second round. if you are faster than the slowest person in the top number of people advancing, that would be how fast you need to be. just bare in mind that even if you could make it to the second round based on the psych sheet, that doesn't mean that you will.
