Ive been cubing for around 1 year now but cant seem to get a solve under 30 seconds on the 3x3 and was wondering if anyone had any tips on hitting that goal?

If you do use cfop work on finger tricks evan if you dont but work on f2l on cfap and leavemoll for a later time use 2 look oll and I`d say use full pll and make sure you have a good cube. After you know that just practice.

Any speedcube will do. Even going from non magnetic to magnetic won’t improve your average much, especially since at a time of 30 seconds TPS isn’t what’s holding you back
All decent speedcubes have the potential to be that fast, but changing cubes really does help (at least it did for me). I had a moyu rs3m, and was stuck at 30-33 seconds for months. I switched to a gan 356 xs, and less than a month later I'm sub 27 and improving rapidly (most days I only have 15-25 solves). I'm sure it was due to the cube, but it was likely psychological rather than a hardware improvement.

Thank you, I do use cfop and i never really considered practising finger tricks

It’s very possible that you getting a new cube impacted you positively psychologically and caused you to go faster (often thinking something is gonna be really great improves how good it is for you). But I don’t think it’s fair to recommend that course of action as a sure fire way to improve, as it certainly doesn’t work that way for everyone

At like 30 -40 seconds the changing to a good cube can help but most of the time it is the person so just because you dont improve weekly or so does not mean it is the cube.

Also practice look ahead I regeat not doing it and now I habe to do it because i am trying to average sub 20.

Lookahead is really only useful around the sub-20 mark. If you can’t reach sub-20, I’d make sure everything else is good before you start learning lookahead, as lookahead relies on the idea that you can solve any f2l case in 8 moves or less (with a few exceptions) and can literally do it with your eyes closed.
