I am fairly new to cubing, I got into it about 2 months ago and am still using a Rubik's brand cube. I sanded it, lubed it, and broke it in a lot. It now turns very well (as far as I'm concerned, I've never tried another cube) and can cut corners to almost a full piece. I plan on getting a Cube4you DIY speedcube soon along with an Eastsheen 4x4. I also have 2 Eastsheen 2x2s and my average is like 13 seconds but I don't really like the 2x2 so I'm more focused on 3x3.

My average on the 3x3 is just under 45 sec. My PB is about 28. I use the fridrich method with a 4LLL and intuitive F2L with algs for the harder cases. I have trouble with look ahead during F2L and any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I got a Rubik's magic yesterday and my average time is just over 2 seconds. Any tips other than practice practice practice would be nice.

Thank you if you read all this and I'm sorry that I couldn't condense it but I have a lot to ask as well as a lot to say. I hope to become a main role in this cubing community and will give back as much as I can. I hope I can be accepted so that I'll be able to blossom into a great cuber.

For 3x3...I suggest learning full PLL which would make you have a 3 Look Last Layer. Other than that just keep practicing and your times would continue to decrease. There are plenty of other topics about this already. Next time use the search function.

Use this site to for additional guide on what you should do when u reach a certain average.

45 seconds in 2 months is fairly good. For lookahead during F2L, try not looking at the pair you're making. Practice this on a slow solve, and try it faster. When you start averaging ~35, I suggest learning Full PLL. I used Badmephisto's guide and it helped me very much(link). His other video tutorials are also pretty good. You can also look on the wiki for good algorithms.linkie

For Rubik's magic, you can see my tutorial here. Try not to force anything on your magic or it might break. I suggest restringing it with Lucas Garron's restringing tutorial here.

I recomend getting a mini QJ 4x4 instead of a Eastsheen 4x4, as a mini QJ is smooth and is not as locky as a Eastsheen. You can buy it in my store here.

C4Y DIY kits are supposed to be overall good cubes for cubers of your speed(see here), but I suggest F-II's(wiki) or Taiyans-II's(no wiki, but they are very awesome). You can buy them both at my store.

My own personal recommendation is to simply turn faster. A good way to practise this it to practise an algorithm you like, such as a U-perm (a 3-cycle of edges in PLL). Try to do the U-perm as fast as you can. Aim for 1.5 seconds (a generous amount of time; many people can do a U-perm in less than 1 second).
I think that once your fingers get used to doing moves that fast, it will generalise to the rest of your solve with time.
