[Help Thread] Megaminx Discussion

I average sub 2.10 on megaminx.
Are there any tips or elements I should be incorporating into my solves to be sub 2 consistently?
Breakdown:
Star:8
F2l:32
S2l:1:00
Last layer:20-25

Honestly those are some pretty wacky splits

Your star and f2l are fine for sub-2
S2L is definitely your weakness, it can be reasonably brought down by at least 15 seconds
LL could be a few seconds faster but it doesn't really matter if you're looking for a big time save

So uh mega splits (Balint method):

Star: 11 (0:11)
F2L: 27 (0:38)
S2L Pt. 1 (ECE triplets): 39 (1:17)
S2L Pt. 2 (F2L again): 17 (1:34)
LL: 18 (1:52)

Any glaring issues? I have a solve video on my channel, but it's from when I averaged over 2 minutes.

Your star seems to take too much time.

Tips?
Basic info: I use Westlund method, white star. I know full 4lll, except for the CO cases with no corners oriented, and comms only for the CP case that is a 5-cycle with no headlights.

Is there a recommended order to learn PLLs? I learned a bunch a while back, then gave up, and I want to start up again, but I want to be more organized about it.

Megaminx Help

Hey users. I have been getting interested in megaminx but I don't even have a beginner corner twisting algorithm, so please give me one of those. The main purpose of this however, is to ask for good tutorials on how to do megaminx. I really want to know how you starting speedsolving megaminx. Anything helps!

Ok so the most effective ll method I know of is beginner method, not 2 look OLL and PLL but orient edges permute edges permute corners and orient corners, use the Rubik's instruction booklet or if u don't have that look up that method, the algs used are sune ruru urur and fruruf etc so pretty easy to learn

Any good videos for speeding up mega? Not learning but getting faster (to sub-1:30 and beyond) or just with fingertrick tips.

Also, what are approximate % splits for good mega solves?

I do F2L ~40
S2L1 ~20-25
S2L2 ~35-45
LL ~15-20

what should I work on most?

has megaminx tripod been tried before?

so solve an ECECE block on the last layer at some point during the last two faces and preserve it for LL so you're just left with 3 corners and 2 edges to solve.
tripod seems well suited to mega because of all the different ways there are to build stuff!

i can't imagine the algs being very nice, but there are only 53 by my count (3 possible CP * 9 possible CO * 2 possible EO = 54 - solved case = 53) and recognition wouldn't be too bad (especially compared to megaminx PLL)
