For F2L, because there's so much more freedom than when compared to S2L, you should definitely not restrict yourself to an F2L order. Take advantage of free pairs and easy blocks, no matter the color. You might have a certain side you gravitate towards, but I wouldn't limit yourself to only that. Its advisable to have an order to solve S2L, but does this apply to F2L pairs too? My S2L order is Red, Blue then Yellow, it goes leftward, should i solve the rightmost pair so i can finish one face off when I'm close to the second face I'm doing. That is, since I start on Red, should i solve the Tan-Green pair first, then the Pink-Tan pair, then finish off on the Blue-Pink pair so i can transition into the next face quicker?
I worded this wrong. Like when I'm done with star and F2L and I want to begin S2L, everyone says have a set S2L order to improve lookahead should i also solve the F2L pairs on that S2L face in a set order too? Since I go from right to left should i also be solving the S2L Pairs from right to left? For F2L, because there's so much more freedom than when compared to S2L, you should definitely not restrict yourself to an F2L order. No you should do whatever is most efficient for that faceI worded this wrong. (U) F U2' R' U2 R U F' R' U2 R U' F U2' F'Is there an alternative alg for this EP case? I usually do T-perm, U then U-perm.

Not a huge fan of the alg Ore provided as I don't even use that for that PLL, but J perm canceled into T perm works and is pretty fast. There's probably something better but idk which PLLs have that EP lolIs there an alternative alg for this EP case? I usually do T-perm, U then U-perm.

If you think you are going to really take mega seriously, start learning the easier PLL cases now since learning PLL will likely take a while. When should I start learning full PLL? I currently average a little under 1:20.
YesIs sub-1:05 possible with just 4LLL, no OLL and PLL?
You can get to sub-40 with just 4LLL. You probably shouldn't, but it's definitely possible. Is sub-1:05 possible with just 4LLL, no OLL and PLL?
Edges/ corners, but megaminxes are difficult to fit magnets into. There's just not much room. I like magnetizing cubes, but once you figure in the cost of magnets, and subtract the fact that unless your megaminx is designed for magnets you're unlikely to be able to fit big enough magnets to work well . . . I'm not sure it's worth it even if your time is worth nothing.I'm planning to magnetize my megaminx sometime (I don't want to spent over $15 just for a magnetic one because it's not my favorite puzzle and I never use mine because it locks up so much) and I'm looking for information about how to. My parents blocked youtube on the wifi so I can't view tutorials for a while. Where do magnetic megaminx have magnets? Are they in the center, edges, and/or corners? What magnets would someone recommend for this puzzle. I prefer strong magnets, especially on larger puzzles.
If you're experiencing a lot of lockups, the problem isn't a lack of magnets; either your mega is trash or your turning is trash. Adding magnets will not solve either problem.I'm planning to magnetize my megaminx sometime (I don't want to spent over $15 just for a magnetic one because it's not my favorite puzzle and I never use mine because it locks up so much) and I'm looking for information about how to. This all makes sense. I opened up the corner pieces and there really isn't any room for magnets. If I was really determined it could be possible to cut plastic out, but I'm not putting that much work into it. I think there is enough room in the edges and corners where I could magnetize that, but that might not work very well.If you're experiencing a lot of lockups, the problem isn't a lack of magnets; either your mega is trash or your turning is trash. Factory-magnetised megaminxes all use corner-edge magnetisation. Prior to that, some people have experimented with centre-edge magnetisation, though iirc the results were lacklustre. (Corner pieces are very small and have very little room; if the specific megaminx wasn't designed with magnets in mind, there might not be enough room to stuff magnets in the corners.)
By the way, you'll need 120 magnets. That's not expensive per se, but getting a budget magnetic mega is only going to cost a few bucks more than that.
It's probably both. I bought a QiYi QiHeng S, which was the cheapest one I could find. The problem is that often when I'm turning I will accidentally move other layers, which causes it to lock up and I need to fix all of the messed-up layers before I can turn it.If you're experiencing a lot of lockups, the problem isn't a lack of magnets; either your mega is trash or your turning is trash.
Yeah that's just a bad megaminx, and chances are you won't be able to fit magnets in it anyway. If you want to improve your hardware, just buy the Yuhu v2m, it's magnetic and only a few dollars more than the QiHeng. This all makes sense.
