Look Ahead

So I'm getting avg's of about 48 and i know that my look ahead sucks and was wondering if anyone knows a cool video or site that help me with some tips on practicing. Or even got some tips they could just tell me. Thx for any help ^^

you can get lower without look ahead,
what method are you using and how fast are your finger tricks?

I am using Fridrich - F2L - 2 Look OLL - Full PLL (still have to learn the G's)
I have used the PLL Trainer n mostly all of my algs are around 2-3 seconds.

then you must practice on finger tricks, and maybe doing F2L faster

I don't really think you need to practice look ahead,

I'm using F2L, then 2look OLL and 2 look PLL
and my best time is 35 seconds, my avg is about 45

I use the beginner F2L, solve a side, then corners, and I average low 30's, and have a 28 second personal best using this method with almost full PLL and some algorithms of OLL. I am working on the F2L right now which now I can perform about as fast as before. Work on F2L, should get your time lower.

1. A lot of cubers say something along the lines of "I know Full PLL, except for the N Perms." Even if your only missing the H perm, if you don't know it, you don't know Full PLL, yet. :p

2. If all the PLL's you know are 3 or less, then that's pretty fast for a cuber in the 40's lol. Like most people would suggest, work on your F2L, a lot.

F2L is the majority of the whole solve. If I had a F2L skip on every solve...
The G-perms are really easy to recognize (as long as you get them in the right place in U)

Thx for the tips I do think my F2L is bad and don't know how to transition from one f2l to another quickly without taking a long time to look for colors. I think ill be doing a bunch of slower solves to practice fallowing a cubie to transition from one to another.

when you see a corner edge pair for your f2l dont look at those pieces while doing the alg look for different corner edge pairs.

i can get better times if im not in a hurry and i dont do my f2ls so fast i can't see any pairs. once you get better you will be able to do your f2ls faster and see other pairs. which will lower your times.

tip: practice practice PRACTICE!

Shoul I look ahead in f2l?

This is similar to my OLL question, but in the f2l phase. So my question now is should i basically not pay attention to the pair im putting in and look for my next one. i really dont do this cause it slows me down. i really think looking ahead just develops over time. What do you think???

Try to consciously look ahead in slow solves, that will help you integrate look ahead faster in your normal solves. It doesn't develop naturally (it didn't for me), so you really have work for it before you get into the habit of not looking ahead.

Basically. Yeah.

If you use algorithms, eventually, you will get to a point in which the f2l is second nature, and you react to the cases without reallie thinking about the turns and pieces.

I don't reallie pay much attention to the next pieces, and i just react. I'm like a zombie with fingers and i average around 16 seconds or so.

Check out what is written in the giant font. This page has been around since long before most of you guys even started cubing. On this forum, we've answered dozens of "how do I get faster?" threads with "practice" and "look ahead".

Did you not use the search function, or are you completely lacking in reading comprehension and common sense?

NO. You shouldn't look ahead. See, when you look ahead, you increase your common sense, making you more intelligent in a way. And the only way to get faster is to be really really stupid. So DO NOT LOOK AHEAD.
