Is the Fridrich method really the fastest way to solve a 3x3 cube?

I'm wondering about making my own method. Though I do think that F2L was a very good idea, I think there are much more efficient ways to solve the cube.

what do fast (thread-title) and efficient (thread-content) have to do with each other? If you don't know this, it is NOT a good time to be thinking about your own method yet. First research at least 5 existing Fast/Efficient methods first and learn

Just get INSANELY good at speed blind...insanely is an understatement

you do realise that 1 look doesn't mean 1 alg? There are a few people in this world that can solve a cube after 12 seconds of inspection in 1 look already. I don't think any of them are interested in speedblind at all (is anyone still interested in that?)

weird doublepost. First the posts didn't happen, then I got "vBulletin Message, Sorry! This forum is not accepting new posts.", then the double posts, then the edit didn't work (invalid post number), then the posts both disappeared.....and now they are both back again
