I just started cubing 1 week ago. I can do the begginers method in 1:30 and i wanted to start fridrich. I watched badmephisto's intuitive f2l videos. i tried doing it but i have a few problems. I suck at finding the c\e pair and when I
do find them I take a long time to decide how to solve the case. Do you think i should continue begginer's and start f2l later. I need some help to start practicing. Do I just solve the cube or are there certain things i can do to practice faster. Thxs in advance

P.S. I am new don't flame me.

I started learning f2l at ~55 sec average and it wasn't too difficult for me. With you being around a 1:30 avg, I think that it would take quite a while longer to pick it up. Really its up to you to decide when to learn f2l/pll/oll or even change to a different method.

If you do decide to start now, i would advise just doing solves to get the hang of f2l. Then when you are comfortable with f2l, learn to optimize it. e.g. easier/faster ways to solve cases and look ahead. bedmephisto has great tutorials on youtube for f2l

Remember:
1. Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice.

You ninja'd just about every relevant post that could've been made in this thread. Good on ya :p.

Ok thxs for the answer. I will just solve the cube using f2l until i get better. Btw i just timed myself using f2l and my time blow so badly. i mean they went up by a minute is this normal or do i just suck.

the time increase is normal, everyone has at least a slight time increase when changing methods or sub-steps (such as changing from 2-look PLL to full PLL). Unfortunately you'll see the biggest increase in time from f2l, and thus it will need to be practiced the most.

also the more time you put in practicing the faster you'll improve.
e.g. I learned f2l about December and most PLL in march. But I've only had two days of quality look-ahead practice. So i'm still ~43sec avg, but i did notice a difference when i did practice look-ahead.

Just remember the 4 P's of cubing.

some advice: dont start f2l too early. the earlier u start the harder it is to take down your times. erik a. can uses 4lll and begineers methods and can get sub 20 averages. i would wait at little longer, at least tille you're sub 1 min

i started F2L when i was averaging 2:30, and it wasn't very hard to bring my times down to 25 seconds, and please use some grammar and spelling

I WISH my times had only gone up by a minute when I started F2L, lol. It's normal, and after a couple weeks youll see huge improvement very quickly.

By the way, don't forget about other methods! I'd still recommend getting comfortable with intuitive F2L because it really will increase your understanding of the cube, but once you feel pretty good about it, at least look over the basics of some other methods and see if they catch your eye. Something else may just click with you better.

I started cubing about a week ago and i am solving the cube using intuitive F2L (i think) and i do about 20 min over a solve. I used dan brown method in the beginning but since i am member here is saw badmephisto's video's and decided to use fridrich. I can do the cross and F2L on my own, verrrrry slowly xD and i can do the last layer cross (and screw up or in the F2L or in the last layer) ; then i ned to look up the cases and algs. so dont worry xD i think you are gonna become much faster very soon.
