Edge control vs. Full OLL

I average around 27 and am trying to get decent look ahead. I'm finding it very hard an have kind of lost interest.
For a faster way to improve, I was looking into learning full OLL. However, I was wondering if I could just use the OLL algs I already know (I know two-look OLL) and just learn a way to always get a cross on the top after F2L. I think this is called ZBLL or ZB method?
Anyway, I want to know whether learning Full OLL or learning edge control and just doing the OLLs I already know would be beneficial in the longer term. I'm not expecting to ever get sub 10, maybe sub 15 in a year or two.

What you are describing is called Full edge control, where you pair up the pieces and insert them with a special alg that orients LL edges. There is another set called ZBLS which involves using an algorithm to solve the pair and have the edges oriented (This has like 500 algs)

It's much better to just learn OLL as the algs for full edge control and ZBLS are very bad and long.

If you want an easy way to learn OLL, check this video out:
Good luck :)

Learn OLL also dot cases aren't that bad but the algs listed on Jayden McNeill's site might not be that good for a beginner it requires so e fancy finger tricks.

Also at your speed working on f2l will help you a lot. Please ty of people delay learning full oll for ages till sub 15 but learning it earlier has benefits in the long run.

Learning full OLL isn’t as hard as it seems. I’m already 28 (guess thats above the average age) and it took me 1 month. I learned about 1-2 algs per day and after that i practiced about 30 minutes in jperms OLL Trainer.
Since most cubers learn OLL at one point i guess theres no way around it. A friend started learning edge control 1-2 months after finishing OLL. I think it’s not a good solution to rely on edge control alone.
