cubingapp suggestion thread

add functionality for users to submit algsets (maybe even easy integration with google sheets) and other users to see them making it so that one person could upload all RU ZBLL for example (idk) and someone add ZZ-CT and someone add ECE algs

basically let us add algs so you dont have to

here's a quick brainstorm. would you like something like this? I figured out it's possible to put a google sheet inside a page

there could also be a page to search for algorithm sets and to look at your bookmarks

I'm thinking about a page on cubingapp to view info about WCA competitions. I would try to match the features on the official WCA website, plus some additional features

One idea I have to sort competitions by distance. You could enter your latitude and longitude and then you see the closest competitions

1. Would you use this to look up competitions?

2. What else would you like to see?

1. Yes
2. Live.wca what if thing -- Some sites offer a thing saying, "What would my (Kinch/Sum Of Ranks/Nemesis count) be if I got X results? However, none of them offer a live feature where it updates from live.wca. Not sure if it is possible to code but if it does end up working out that would be super cool.

Have you ever wanted to find competitions nearby? Here's what you might do:

Before:
  1. WCA competition website
  2. Click 'Map'
  3. Zoom into your location
  4. Click all the map pins to see competition info
Now:
  1. cubingapp competition website
  2. Enter latitude/longitude (skip this step if you bookmark the page)

With cubingapp it's a lot easier! Try it here and make sure to bookmark your coordinates https://cubingapp.com/competitions/

Another small change I made is to put Kinch and Sum of Ranks in the navigation bar. These are among the most popular pages so they should be easy to access

Cool.

How about displaying distance in both Standard and Metric; 10km/6.2mi? or choose one and save it with the bookmark, too.
You can also get coords on google maps; right click on a spot on pc, tap and hold on mobile.
You might want to display the events by what more people more commonly know them as; 3x3, OH, FMC, 3BLD, etc.

Do you think icons or event names would be better? I'm also thinking about a feature to filter by event like they have on the WCA site

The closest to me is over 200km away but I'm glad this exists now. Cubingapp is so good.
