[Help Thread] Cubing Injuries?

I get soreness/pain in my wrist if I cube for too long in one stretch. Doing a 100 cube average in one sitting is about my limit. Make sure you have a good quality cube, make sure it's lubricated and easy to turn and you shouldn't have to worry too much about wrist problems. If your wrists due start to feel sore just give it a rest for the rest of that day and maybe a day or two more and you should be fine to cube again.

If you have a really crappy cube then your thumb might get sore from finger tricks, but if this happens it's a pretty sure sign you have a bad cube and need to either fix it up or just buy a new one.

I was solving with my Lunhui. I dropped the cube. It did NOT fall on the table..

I couldn't walk for an hour.

When I cubed a lot (1000 solves one day) I got some pain in my fingers and had to wrest them. I got no problems any more tho, even if I do 300-400 solves a day

Use grippers (training tool) and stretch them to prevent injuries and short muscles.

I was doing a 3x3 marathon and developed severe muscle strain in my right index finger. It felt like the muscle was completely torn and I couldn't move my finger without pain, let alone move it enough to cube, for about five weeks. I had to tape it to my middle finger just to keep it from moving on its own

I was take out a center piece from my 4x4(ssv5) and my nail peeled off the tipmy finger. this was described to graphically basically it feels like a paper cut. my times are still "sub20" but aren't that great.

I get this. It's not surprising, muscles wear out. It's not that I can't cube anymore when I hit that point, the times are just really spotty and inconsistent..

*wince*

peeling tiles of a cube with my silly long nails is something i will never forget
blood clotting under your nail is extremely painful and the off-purple colour of cut skin is horrific
for those lucky enough to have not experienced this, when the sharp edge of a sticker or tile cuts the skin under your nail when you peel it off.
sorry for excessive gore.

my sister decided to drop a Vcube-6 on my face, I think I was unconscious

also a more common injury is when my fingernails go under the stickers and the stickers slice under my nail, enough to stop me doing OH for about 3 hours
