[Help Thread] Cubing Injuries?

Back when I average around fifty seconds, I sprained my thumb skiing and couldn't cube for like two weeks. Didn't OH either because I didn't understand the fingertricks.

Came back, was ten seconds faster. ;)

I've never actually injured myself, though my wrist actually was feeling quite sore after a real grueling drill session. But that was probably because I did like an average of 100 on magic, 75 on 3x3, 30 on master magic, and also some PLL drills.

I highly doubt it was an actual injury, though.

P.S.: I dropped about 3 seconds on my magic average though. :D

I have constant pain in my left hand and right thumb. Guess I'm just overdoing things at the moment.
I type and use a mouse 8 hours a day due to my job. I cube about an hour a day whilst commuting to and back from work. When I get home I practice playing the bass anywhere from 1 to 3 hours an evening. Then I might do some more cubing before going to bed...
At some point I'm going to have to decide what's more important to me because I can't keep this up without the risk of getting something that could potentially stop me doing all of the above.
Can't stop working, playing the bass is more rewarding than cubing...just when I was getting better at cubing. Finally got around to learning 2-Look. Oh well, the pain isn't bad enough to stop me yet ;o)

Sprained my right hand thumb at karate about two months ago, still doesn't feel right...
Feel it a little while cubing.

Perhaps for cubing you could just slow down a little (TPS wise) and focus on efficiency in F2L or blockbuilding.
You'll turn less but will continue learning.

Over Christmas holidays, I was playing a certain game an unhealthy amount, and after a week I had RSI in my wrist. I had to stop gaming and cubing for about a month to recover. It's mostly recovered, but strenuous activities are not comfortable, e.g. 5 press-ups will start to hurt my wrist.

I had this pain in my fingers for a long time. I stopped cubing and cracking my knuckles for about a week and my fingers felt so much better.
I switched to a Dvorak keyboard and was surprised by how little I moved my fingers for typing. (I can type on Qwerty/Dvorak now)

Found out that my forearm is broken. Check my avatar.
SURPRISE!
I fractured both of my hands 2 different times... fractured in like 6 different places.
Not much cubing when that happened (But I didn't speed cube back then), but I did a lot of chess
