[Help Thread] Cubing Injuries?

Every time I mod a cube or replace stickers I manage to cut myself. But I don't think the cubes themselves have hurt me. They all love me.

The sticker got under my nail once and it was bleeding....other than that I can't remember anything.

I've had a tile under my thumbnail several times, causing them to bleed.

this happened to me too. probably explains why I don't tile cubes anymore :\

i was overpracticing h perm and my nail started to dig into the skin and made me bleed so i currently can not do m turns

Ive also been using a razor to remove tiles from mefferts cubes and slipped and cut my finers but not sure if its "cubing" related

my left wrist bothers me a lot, though its bothered me before cubing from tennis as well, and i can hyperextend it doing something as simple as pushing a door, so i think its more the wrist than the cubing. still, ive been practicing OH and its been bothering me more than normal

The only time my wrists hurt was after 12 hours of cubing. Other than that, no.

I once was demonstrating how the Scrape-rite blades (from Cubesmith) aren't sharp, by pretending to cut my wrists.

... They're sharp. lol jk they're harmless

Personally I've never hurt myself, but my girlfriend fell down a few stairs while solving a cube. Got a nasty bruise on her elbow...=/

I have a permanent scar on my left leg from my Rubik's 5x5 being throw into my shin during a car wreck. My skin was split down to the muscle and required a handful of stitches.

That sounds horrible and you should cube differently if it persists.

It's only if I use an F2. I think it's because it's slightly bigger than my other 3x3's or something.

Unless all of your other 3x3s are AVs, keychain cubes, or mini A/C/DS etc, then this makes no sense.

I've gotten tiles under my fingernails quite a few times, and it bleeds. Aside from that, nothing else. Tiles do like nice on some puzzles though, despite this common injury.

The skin under my nails got really sore after struggling to take the center caps off of a very stubborn type C. But that's hardly an injury
