Hey Guys,

I've been work speedsolving with Roux for a while now. I'm back into cubing after meeting with Chris Hardwick back in February. He always seems to bring me back in.

I've had a really big breakthrough in times, smooth fast solves are 15.xx.

So, I've come a long way from CFOP. What made the difference was learning CMLL. And also being able to more so do nmCMLL.

It is a sub set of 84 cases, solved by 40 algorithms.

I solve yellow and white blocks for L/R. With red and orange as my U/D.
So, I breakdown my system into a 2 step recognition system. First recognize the L/R configuration. Then identify the CMLL case. And solve.

The L/R configuration is defined as the orientation and permutation of the L/R stickers. The U layer has the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H orientations. On a different plane for L/R there is another orientation that can be defined as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, or H.

Identifying the U layer orientation first leaves you 6 possibilities (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 on a CMLL chart).

When you identify the L/R configuration first, then the possibilities of CMLLs cases per orientation is reduced to 2!

Solving nmCMLL became natural to me. I don't even remember what blocks I solve by time I go to the next scramble. It came from a long time ago when Chris Hardwick told me about Opposite Cross Solving. I applied that to my Roux solving.
