Can PBL be used in 3x3??

I've thinking of something like this:
1.Solve cross that will be at least one correct edge piece.
2. Solve 3 F2L pairs.
3. Use the last F2L pair to fix parity, if exist.
4. OLL
5. PBL.
Or:
1. Solve cross. (at least one edge correct)
2. F2L.
3. OLL
4. M2U2M2U2 for parity and PBL.

But I think this is can't be very fast.

Bringing back an old thread. New to the forum, so if it would be recommended to start a new thread for this moderately distinct topic, please advise. Wondering about 3x3 PBL that could be used with belt method.

1. build E slice
2. Orient U/D
3. Distribute U/D pieces to their proper face
4. CPBL
5. EPBL

not wondering about viability or effectiveness. Although I understand that this is a speed solving forum, I am in no way implying that this would be a fast or worthy method. It would be cool to develop CPBL and EPBL subsets as proof of concept, however. Before I would begin on this task, wanting to check that it doesn't already exist?
