thought of this today when I got a gj 47.01 on 4x4 (PB)

My best reaction:
today when I broke my PB - other humans were watching and I put on my imaginary sunglasses and swegged it up

My worst reaction:
when I did my first (and only) successful blindsolve - I took off my blindfold and threw it, and it ended up going through the open window and I spent ten or so minutes trying to find it (it landed in a bush)

WHAT IS YOURS?!?!?!?!?!/1/

The way you phrased those is just hilarious. Wow.

Best reaction was when I broke my 3x3 PB for the first time in months at school in a classroom with my girlfriend, who also solves cubes. I just kind of slammed the cube down and stood up excitedly. Can't put it into words that well, but it was really a fun reaction.

Worst reaction is when I got my 1:21 5x5 PB. At the time, I averaged nearly 2:00 and my PB was 1:38. So, it was a PB by quite a bit. It didn't even feel like a fast solve, so I was just surprised and confused, and not excited at all, when I saw how fast of a solve it was. It wasn't nice then because I had no sense of having accomplished something, and it's not nice now because that PB was so ridiculously fast for me that I haven't beaten it in months despite having gotten way faster at 5x5. I'm still not 100% sure that I didn't accidentally stop the timer early, or something. It seems weird that a solve that's a PB by 17 seconds wouldn't even feel fast.

Another ton of bad reactions is all my recent 3x3 single PBs. I've gotten at least 8 solves that are under 10.2 seconds, but none that are under 10 seconds. When I got my 10.11 PB, I wasn't even excited, just annoyed. I don't think I even smiled. 3x3 single PBs will not be exciting until they are sub 10. I'm sick of beating my PB by .01 seconds and not reaching sub 10.

Nice, I'm picturing the invisible shades cool guy reaction :)

I think my funniest/best reaction to a pb is this one:

My worst reaction was the first time I solved the 4x4x4 blindfolded successfully. I was actually doing the 4x4x4 supercube blindfolded, and I was using the most inefficient method imaginable. I solved the centers using setups to a small number of three cycles I knew at the time. I solved wings by using a supercube safe pure OLL parity alg to pair them up into dedges, and then I solved the cube like a supercube 3x3. Yes, I used a method closely resembling the general reduction method in a BLD solve *facepalm*

I was doing the solve in my dorm room my sophomore year college. I lived in a suite where 4 rooms share a hallway that is separate from the main hallway leading to other suites. I had 1 roommate and 6 other suitemates.

When I finished my solve I shouted something along the lines of YYYEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!1!!
!!!!!!!eleven!!!!!!

I scared the crap out of my roommate, and all 6 of my suitemates ran into our room freaked out that I was screaming at the top of my lungs. Was I injured? Were my roommate and I in a fight?

When I told them I solved the 4x4x4 supercube blindfolded for the first time, and that it took me 4 and a half hours... Let's just say that of all the reasons they thought I would be screaming so loud, that was the very LAST reason they would have thought of :)

Whatever you tried to put in the spoiler isn't actually there. The spoiler is empty. Maybe my computer is just being weird.

It's a youtube video using tags. I took it out of the spoiler since it's relevant to the discussion.

That's pretty hilarious, though. :)

Haha, thanks :) This is definitely one of more embarrassing cubing memories, but in retrospect it was pretty funny :)

I'm picturing an excited, intense look that is the body language equivalent of "Like a BOSS!" :)

This reaction deserves to be mentioned:

I'm out of town this weekend on a ridiculously slow connection using mobile hotspots for internet. Can't watch this now, but I definitely want to check this out when I'm back near good/cheap Interwebz again.

Just had another awesome reaction. It doesn't quite compete with Chris's 4x4 superBLD scream, but it's funny nonetheless. I just got a 3:58.75 7x7 solve, which is my first ever sub 4. I've been close to sub 4 for a long time; it was a bit overdue. When I finished the solve, I was surprised it was sub 4 since I hadn't looked at the timer even once during the solve and was too focused to have a good sense of time, and I kind of whisper-screamed "YES" and jumped up fast enough to knock my chair over backwards. I scared the crap out of my cat. He looked at me the way I'd expect a librarian to look at me if I had done that in a quiet library. Shocked and annoyed, while somehow still looking regal. I had to go pet him for a minute in apology. :D

My best reaction: My 5.84 3x3 single, I was so excited after it my mam paid me 10 euro to go to the shop just so she could have some peace and quiet!

My worst reaction: It was in the morning and out of nowhere I got my first sub 20, I screamed so loud my sister got annoyed with me and later that day we got a noise compliant from our neighbours which got me grounded!

My best pb:
8.258 3x3 single. This was waiting for the bus to day camp. I jumped up and whooped, and bragged to everybody on the bus about it. I averaged 17 seconds way back then. My previous pb was 10.884, so big jump. My pb is now 8.049. This was after I lost over 2,500 times due to some technical experimentation, so cool story. Lamest. Reaction. Ever. I just smiled. And told my parents. Ant texted my friend. But that's what I always do.

My worst pb:
22.282 OH pb single. This was at Slow N Steady Fall 2015, officially. My average was going much better than expected, due to 14.17 fail 3x3 average. The LL on this solve was fat sune to PLL skip. It could've been ~20 seconds if I had done the OLL faster. I just smiled after realizing it and said that it was my pb out loud.

Well, the thing is I average ~15 with a large skew so I can get 13 and it not be much but 17 is bad.

So basically so normally I just stop and congradulate myself when I do an 11 or a 12 but when I got my pb I don't know what happened. It was just like oh, I got my first sub-10, meh, next solve...

So yeah, I don't have great pb reactions...

Best: I broke my PB after a non-cuber asked me my fastest time. I told him it was "like 32 seconds", then proceeded to solve it in 29. Of course, he asked me "Is that the fastest you've ever solved it?"......

Worst: I got a PB in my study hall, and when I saw, I went to tap my friend, who was sitting next to me, and who was a cuber as well. I ended up half tapping, half punching this kid. That's not all. He had separated his left shoulder playing football a few days earlier, and had to wear a sling on his left arm. I punched him right in the shoulder, and he yelled in pain, causing the whole class to look at me. The teacher asked "What's going on over there Anthony?", to which I held up my cube and replied "I got a personal best."
