[Help Thread] Algorithm Memorization Discussion

Okay, everyone keeps saying learn intuitive f2l, but nobody recommends a good way to learn it. I'm looking at an alg sheet and trying to go between the cube and that to see how it is doing it (Not to memorize the alg so shhhh) but I would much rather have a guide that explains what needs to be done in a situation rather than what moves.
E.G. (Would need to be coupled with 2 pictures dipicting the left and right versions)
Situation: Both your pieces are adjacent and in the top layer, and the up face colors match but sides do not.
Solve: Put the corner in the keyhole, and have the white on that corner facing you. Do a quarter face turn hide your edge piece- This will keep your correct corner piece on top. If that direction was left (Like you would steer a car left), then spin the top layer left- If it was right then the top goes right. Then drop your white edge back into the cross. Turn the top twice to put the corner back in the keyhole, and do the three move trigger finish.

If there is a thread that explains this stuff (Hopefully better than I can) that would be great. Understanding the more difficult F2L situations from algs is killing me.

How can i memorize all OLL and PLL algs?

Hey guys im new in speedcubing...i watched the most classic cube tutorial (dan brown's one) and practised so my record is 55 sec :D and i decided to learn Fridrich Method..
and my main question is:
How can i memorize all OLL and PLL algs? thanks

My opinion is to first learn 4Look last layer, then F2l (Or f2l then 4LLL) and you should easily be able to get sub 30-40 with them. Then I advise praticing f2l heaps and learning full PLL. You can get sub 15 with 2Look OLL so you don't really need to learn full OLL for quite a while... As for f2l just learn to do it intuatively, your times will go up to start with but will drop within a few days :).

Pretty much follow the guide Jorghi posted :).

Look at other methods too...
While Friedrice is the most popular, there are other methods in the "Big 4" like Roux, ZZ and Petrus.

Personally, I can sub-15 using 9 algs with Roux.

I agree with this, it's great to experiment and see which method you prefer, they all have their bonuses :).

But for me personally I really enjoy fridrich's method :).

Yeah Big Green too, it's just that I didn't know his real name.

Austin Moore. Don't forget Thom Barlow either.

Anyway, if you want to learn CFOP, learn 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL first. It's not that many algorithms to learn and all of them will be used when you learn the 1 look of each. Just take things at your own pace, you don't have to sit down and memorize every algorithm in a day.

Try to memorize with muscle memory.

Yea, I do that. however, I think there's a downside to it. I fail to execute the same algorithm on bigger cubes due to size of it. Because my "muscle memory" is not used to bigger cubes.
