OK, here’s everything I’ve got to tell from my comp, Back to School Colorado 2024!!!

First Event: 2x2

I was actually excited to compete for the event, no nerves at all. But I was afraid if I didn’t get a sub 6.5 average, my goal.
But I was wrong…
I got a sub-5 average! The solves was 3.34, 3.46, 5.81, 5.36, and the +2ed solve, 7.39. I feel like I did good, to me, sub-5 is decent.
However, I was so close to reaching the Finals, but I was off by 8 spots!

Second Event: 3x3

I was excited to compete in 3x3 too. My goal was to get sub-25. But I expected less out of me.
First Round: 24.79, 16.81, 17.54, DNF, 25.29: Most of the scrambles were good, except on the fourth solve. The solve was about to be 25 seconds, but I failed the Ja-Perm, which I hate.

Second Round: 18.91, 21.34, 16.28, DNF, 18.95: I was very proud of myself, first sub-20!!! lol, the DNF was on purpose though. I was doing a Y-Perm, but then I looked at the time, 28 seconds, I didn’t want a time like that so I ditched the solve.

Third Round: How did I make it in??? I was the last person to make it to third round, which was crazy. However, I got very nervous this round, and yes, I bombed the average. The times were 18.58, DNF, 26.41, 22.71, 18.89. The scrambles, and solves, were meh. The 2nd solve was an on-purpose DNF, and the third solve was a +2. I was disappointed, too much nervousness got on me in the Third Round, but making it in was a big achievement to me.

Third Event: Pyraminx

In my practice solves, I always ended up in lock-ups, or one tip twisted away, I had no high hopes at all. But I did fine after all.
First Round: 7.80, 16.20, 9.16, 8.76, 11.65: All the times were fine except for the 2nd solve, I dunno what I was doing.

Averages and PRs for each event rounds I competed in:
2x2 R1 - Single: 3.34 Average: 4.94
3x3 R1 - Single: 16.81 Average: 22.54
3x3 R2 - Single: 16.28 Average: 19.73
3x3 R3 - Bombed everything, nothing at all.
Pyraminx R1 - Single: 7.80 Average: 9.86

That’s all! I enjoyed the comp a ton.
Purposely getting a DNF/bad time is not allowed in the regs if this happens again you could be banned

Has anyone here tried the GAN 13 MagLev? I dunno if I should get it or not.
And also, what about the WeiLong Skewb?
I have the GAN 13 Maglev and in my opinion it is an alright cube, but there are much better cubes for cheaper. The 12 is definitely better by a long shot, if you are wanting a GAN, but there is also any recent MoYu cube that would work well for cheaper than the 12.

Gan 13 is pretty good. I like my cubes slower, but it has a very nice, premium feel. I have felt better 12’s though, and the 12 is very much cheaper

Weilong Skewb is marginally better than its RS counterpart, and twice as expensive. I don’t love it as much as the RS though, as it feels too plush

Oh, I was looking at the SCS Labor Day sale, and saw the 13 MagLev UV for $45

OK, everyone, I’m starting a new phase, solving giant Rubik’s cubes!
My goal is sub-45 for now, and I average about 50 currently.

I’m wondering if I should get the Tornado V4, and also my Skewb sucks, so I think I should get a better one.
My lube also ran out.
when my tornado v4 arrives (pioneer version) I'll tell you how good it is and give a recommendation

which skewb do you have? I recommend the MoYu RS, but I'm also getting the weilong with purple internals so I'll give a recommendation for that also

Pioneer IMO… When I saw a video, I noticed it had too much magnets, so I think the alignment is too much, I’m aiming at Flagship.

My skewb is the GAN standard one, which only has 8 magnets and sucks.

lol my dad said I can only make a purchase until I get my Debit card, now that’s some time to wait.
However, I need help, I lubed my QiYi MS and M Pro 4x4 a few weeks ago, and the lube spilled on it, and now it’s very oily, and no matter how many times I try to rub it off, it won’t work.

Help?
