A question of improvement

Hey everyone, I started cubing in July this year (note: cubing, not speedcubing, Rubik's website beginners method level). Since then I've gotten quite a-lot more cubes, including higher order cubes and shape-shiters (my favorite for the most part). I started f2l relatively soon after starting cubing, maybe a month or two. I learnt 3-look last layer much later, as I slowed down in the amount of time I cubed (didn't do it much most days, went over a week without trying semi-regularly).

Anyway, went on a minor tangent, apologies. Basically, long story short, I started in July and my current PB is 14.11 seconds, without any kind of pll/oll skip. Also, the PB was done using WCA inspection time so if the time had happened in-comp it would've been comp legal. My question is, how do you guys think I've improved? Especially considering I don't time myself particularly often, I hadn't timed myself for over a week before the day I got my PB, and it was the third time of the day.

Sorry about the confusing way I've written this. I was watching Television at the time and probably haven't payed enough attention, but I really would appreciate your guy's opinion on this. Thanks in advance.

Screenshot of my PB, and my PB from mid-July the same week I started.

My jaw dropped. Someone pick it up.

A PB of 14 after 5 months?! That's really good; consider me jealous. What do you average? I was maybe averaging 50 or so after 5 months (although I improve slowly and was still using a Rubik's brand, lol). Probably took me a bit under 2 years to get to where you are now. Keep up the good work; if you practice and keep improving at this rate you could get really fast.

Oh btw, might want to double check your spelling of shape-shifters, lol. ;)

Thanks! I recently (as-in, literally yesterday) used your tutorial on square one to learn how to solve it. It's a great tutorial and was really easy to understand, helped me a-lot.

Oh, and I average low 20s. Maybe 21-22. I get sub-20 solves relatively often though.

I'm was similar, if not worse in my first 1-2 years of cubing. I remember being stuck at 1:10 for so many months, 55 for ages and the biggest one was the 30 second barrier. I think I know why though; 2 reasons. 1, I didn't really expose myself to CFOP and 1 look OLL PLL till much much later, I mastered the beginners method. 2, I had an extremely old rubiks brand until I was averaging 45, believe it or not. After that though I reckon my improvement got pretty fast. Now here I am averaging 11
:)

You are improving fast. I've been cubing for almost 2 years and still average 16 or 17.
