I start with the 3x3 square, then I solve the 5x5 square. This is faster for me since I can plan it better. I like to call it "spiral dilation"

Cool. If you like big cubes,(like me)then you might like 7x7 solving.I dont got a 7x7 but for 6x6 I do lines and 5x5 center reduction(pair the edge centers).
I got a 7x7 this Christmas actuallyCool. If you like big cubes,(like me)then you might like 7x7 solving.
It feels faster to do it that way, but as you solve more and get more used to the puzzle, that way is going to hinder you due to the lack of efficiency the idea has to offer. Bars and blocks of different varieties are going to carry you a lot further than your method ever will.
That is a great time!I remember it took me 8 minutes to solve 7x7 when I first started. Now I average 4,with with sub 4 solves occurring occasionally.I got a 7x7 this Christmas actually
I think my best is like a high 5
yea first solve(timed) was a 8:20 for me or smthn like thatThat is a great time!I remember it took me 8 minutes to solve 7x7 when I first started. Now I average 4,with with sub 4 solves occurring occasionally.
There are 8 slots. I solve 3x3 using 2x1 bars, then a 3x1 bar. Then on 5x5,I solve 3x1 bar,two 4x1 bars, then lastly 5x1 bar. It sort of "spirals"outwards. It feels faster to do it that way, but as you solve more and get more used to the puzzle, that way is going to hinder you due to the lack of efficiency the idea has to offer. I do one handed solves as well. 7x7 took me 8 minutes 43 seconds.yea first solve(timed) was a 8:20 for me or smthn like that
now I think I(would) avg like 5-6
I like itSo,do you like 7x7 solving?If not,what is your favorite cube?
Never had it. I had Aofu WRM,broke it,Magnetic meilong, broke it,and now I am waiting for a replacement. Sounds cool, though.I like it
still getting used to it(solving it casually during class sometimes)
I like my aosu v7 single track tho
it just feels so good
ye its short but its still big cube4x4 solving is fun. I like it a lot as well.
chat maybe i should get an aosu to get unnerfed as wellye its short but its still big cube
and only 1 other edge to pair
aosu cubpletly unnerfed me
I just got my 4th sub 50(PB a 47.644)

like literally now
It’s still faster to build full 5x1 bars. They’re harder to find and make, but as you practice them and get used to the pieces, you’ll be able to find the pieces faster and gain more intuition about the puzzle.(mod edit: this was originally four separate posts)

Sorry. I love 7x7,so I got excited with records.

Yeah I actually do this too lmao, lines feel a bit hard for me rn but I’ll get it someday (I average like 3:10)I start with the 3x3 square, then I solve the 5x5 square. This is faster for me since I can plan it better. I like to call it "spiral dilation"
you should check out Kevin Hays' YT tips and tricks playlist, a LOT of good unfo from the champI start with the 3x3 square, then I solve the 5x5 square. This is faster for me since I can plan it better. I like to call it "spiral dilation"
Ok,Garf. Trying it,but struggling. But will you help? This seems to slow me down...but I need sub 2 this time next year(Caleb Valenzuela encouraged me to try for that)So bars looks like I may use be now. Sorry for the grammar, but rushed andIt’s still faster to build full 5x1 bars. Update to this: I now average right around 3 minutes and am comfortable with doing either lines or square building, square building still seems superior for me thoughYeah I actually do this too lmao, lines feel a bit hard for me rn but I’ll get it someday (I average like 3:10)
