I started cubing in May 2022 and at the time of posting it is December 2022. This has been 7 months in the making.

I don't post here anymore, but I have an urgent question: I have gotten down to averaging 12, and I wanna learn pseudo-slotting (FOR THE FUN OF IT). Ik this is not the best thing to learn where I am at, but I really want to. Also, any tips on what to learn if: You average 12 seconds, know full CFOP, pretty decent look ahead, don't think ZBLL will help bc of recon and can predict first pair on most scrambles. If this helps, I have been cubing for 10 months at the time of writing.

Holy sh*t…. I’ve been cubing for damn near 3 years and average 16. So yes, your progression is amazing.

Man, I just don’t post here much lol. The name isn’t very fitting anymore, but I’ll just roll with it. I wasn’t really improving for ages, and then, Nationals happened. Actually, it‘s waiting to happen. I’m preparing for USA Nationals, and have been doing targeted practice on all the possible things you can do targeted practice. I practice my COLLs, my PLLs, and my F2L, and I’m gonna do my OLL soon. I moved down to 11.9 on good days, 12.2 normally. Now, I have gone to three more comps ever since my last post, so let’s talk. In my fourth ever comp, and the first of the 3 I’ll be talking about is Richmond Spring 2023. I wanted to get a 12-second average, and succeeded! In the first round, I got an average of 12.72, completing my goal, and getting PR. I also got a pr of 11.363 and DNF’d out of a second 11 for a counting 11. In the second round, I improved my average EVEN MORE and got an 11.94 ao5! I have never made it to finals, and sadly, this competition did not change that. I got 19th place in the second round. Also, in the second round I managed to get my first ever sub-11 in a competition! That was very exciting. My next comp was Slow N' Steady Spring 2023. I wasn't expecting to improve much on my PRs, but in the first round, after getting an 11-second solve with a V perm and an 11-second solve with an E perm, I secure a PR average in the first 4 solves, and get a 12 on my last solve, giving me a PR average of 11.76 seconds! I made it to the second round, and there, I got a 12.90 average, and, shockingly, a 10.702 single! Now, my last of these recent competitions was very interesting. I had developed a (NON-CONTAGIOUS) bacterial infection that made me really itchy 3 days before the comp, so I expected to just fail every solve, but quite the opposite happened. In the first round, I'm not expecting much. I go over to solve, and am ON FIRE!!! Getting a low 11, a mid 11, 2 low 12s, and a 10 to end it off, which was also PR2, I grab an average of 11.63 seconds! Insane for me! Now this competition had it so the top 16 made it to finals, and in the first round, I got 16th place! I was hyped, cause this was also before I hit the 1 year of cubing mark, and I wanted to get finals before a year. I needed to perform in the second round. I did really well in my first solve, getting a pr single of 10.333! On the next solve, though, something bad happened. I got an O Perm cross after a mistake, on a solve which could've been another ten, making me miss out on a counting ten. That was pretty sad, and I ended up with an 11.89 average. I was stressing over WCA live, and when I saw what I thought was the last competitor get entered with me in 16th place, I was so excited! But then... Alex Pham! A random cuber I had never heard of, took my 16th place spot, leaving me to rot at 17th, the saddest spot of all time. So, I need to get redemption at USA Nationals. I don't mean make it to finals, that would be absurd, but make it to second round. And also, get the esteemed, counting ten, and the even more prestigious: 10-second average. And, if you think that's it, I also want... A SUB-10 OFFICIAL SINGLE! Maybe I'll post a mains and goals thing, but I'm only doing 3 events, so, eh. Even though people won't say anything at all (and I won't blame you) tell me if you want that. Sorry for the long update, but anyway, thats it.

You are amazing. Very interesting to read about your progress. Do post the mains and goals and whatever you wish. 👍👏👏👏

Best of luck and continual progress.

Guess who got a 10.11 average with three 9s and one 8 over the 2 rounds I competed in (yes, I made it to second round)!
My practice actually paid off for once! Let’s gooooooooooo! My 10.11 average started off BAD with a 13.08. Next solve, had a. Lot of pressure to turn the average around, and got a 9.49, saving the PR streak and securing I achieve at least 1 of my goals! But the, something insane happens; on my next solve, it’s going really well, I stop the timer: 8.74! Then, I get an 11.11, which is good for me, but not the greatest compared to my previous results. On the last solve, I was dumbfounded. I got a 9.79! I have potential for sub-10 average officially now! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I also got a 11.16 avg in the second round but who cares. I’m gonna start on color neutrality, something I’ve put off for a while now. I’m dual neutral, but always thought it would be really cool to be color neutral.

I had to copy this from a discord message I sent to my friend about it, but yeah. Got this this morning, pretty sure it isn’t a fluke because I stayed below 11 for the rest of the average of 100, but this was the best it was:

Been a while. I’m sub-10 now. My PB single is 6.98. I have a 9.05 PR 3x3 average and 7.641 PR 3x3 single. I made it to finals in the Virginia championships (I’m from Virginia) after getting 10th in first and second round, in which I beat Blake Thompson and Michael Nielsen, and then in finals I didn’t do well and got a 9.97 ao5, landing me in 14th place in finals ;-;. Having a jolly ol’ time!

(edit: I average 9.9 - 10.1 also yeah I’m really consistent with a very slow pb single for a sub 10 cuber idk why I’m practicing to get lower the. I’ll try and get sub-9)
