What's your opinion on which is faster:
1.) Regular Petrus w/ position corners, twist corners, position edges
2.) Petrus up to step 3, setup for WV, WV, PLL

WV and PLL makes it easy to switch from CFOP, just wondering if it's worth my time to learn extra algs

The normal (1st) is easier IMO. But just do ocll/pll. You should already know that.

I have an idea for a new method/variation on Petrus:

1.) Make 1x2x3 block on D face left side
2.) EO and solve left edges

The advantage to this method would be solving EO and left edges in one step with the move set <U,u,R> rather than the traditional Petrus method of 2x2x2, then EO and completing the 2x2x3. My method allows for faster solving with a restricted move set, and allows the centers to move about freely, making it more versatile than solving a 2x2x2 with the centers fixed and clumsy F moves. I have not yet come up with algorithms (dont think they're needed) or a methodical way of completing this step that consistently yields a low move count.

About the actual solve:
This step should take around 8-10 moves, considering there can be at most 8 misoriented edges, and 4 edges can be oriented while placing an edge (FL or BL). Right now I only use a very primitive method using u' R/R'/R2 u to place and orient edges, however I am hoping someone can help me expand my thinking and methodology.

Same concept as my CP block method, just without the CP (which is definitely better if you don't have a good way of doing CP). I personally prefer making the block on the left and then solving EO + DB/DF just because M-slices are way easier than E slices.

Hey guys i've been cubing and using petrus for a about year and i cant seem to get consistent sub 15 averages.
I dont know where i can improve though. Wonder if you guys have any tips.

What do you average with any other method? What do you average with Petrus?
The concept of Petrus is to efficiently solve the cube quickly. This means that you need to be able to see multiple options ahead of time (look-ahead FTW!) and quickly make decisions for consistent TPS.

Well i started with CFOP but quickly got bored of it. (a week?) Switched to Petrus as block building appealed to me and stuck with it ever since. I do know how to use roux and ZZ. I average 15.xx with petrus and right about 20 mark for CFOP. My timings for ZZ are really sporadic - 20-30. Roux though cool i only average about 30.

What's your PB with Petrus?

Lol, but still. It's almost unheard of to get like sub-12 with Petrus!

Well i'm definitely not the first to get sub 10 times with petrus. I think nobody has average sub 12 because Petrus isn't a popular method nor has it been explored enough. CFOP has taken over the world. ha-ha, (no offense to CFOP users, it IS a good method :))

I also think sub10 avg5 is impossible, for me at least.

I have 12.xx avg5, 13.xx avg12, and a few 9.xx lolsingles.
