Everyone tells me oh Fridrich is better, fridrich is better, but i despise the cross. I use Petrus but I've been told this takes a lot longer to build skill at. I think Fridrich isn't really all that easier, simpler maybe, just that fridrich is merely an expansion of lbl. Imagine trying to learn pure Fririch as your first method.
as far as I can tell on forums at least it's about 30 percent Petrus solvers, 65 percent Fridrich solvers, and maybe 5 of something else.

Oh and could somebody tell me how to spell fridrich? =]

You despise cross, yet you use Petrus? It's a hell of a lot harder (initially, at least) to build a 2x2x2 block than to form a cross.

Also, I would say the percentage of Fridrich solvers here was higher. I'm not gonna give an estimate because I'd probably be way off though =P

(Also, what exactly do you want to be discussed in this thread? There seems no "point")

30% Petrus users? Where are they all?

Did you try searching before you made this thread? Your questions have all been answered many times before.

I don't think he/she (hereafter known as he) has a question at all. (Okay, so he wants to know how to spell Fridrich, fine.) He just wants to make a silly point based on emotions rather than logic. The I-just-want-to-be-different-from-the-crowd mentality, and despising the cross for no reason mentioned whatsoever, and thinking that Fridrich is just an expansion of a noob LBL method that's so easy to master there's no challenge at all. @Panda: Do your research, then criticize.

PS: I just realized it's PandaMAN, so it's a he after all :p

Petrus vs Fridrich?
Wow I've never seen such a thread before.

original isn't it?

i just wonder why there's only two methods. because I use this little method that wasn't mentioned.

seriously, search the forums, and stop thinking that there's only petrus and fridrich (that's just emphasizing that you're a noob...like i used to be) when there's so many other methods

honestly, i'm not trying to come off meanly, its just that you excluded roux, MGLS, and other methods that a lot people actually use.

SEARCH THE FORUMS! there's a million threads like this! http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1685

I use petrus for OH...well not anymore but I used to

The amount of "other" solvers is increasing. YAY FOR ROUX!

o_o if you have trouble with the cross than you don't have much of a chance with Petrus.

Could you post a scramble with your solution for the 2x2x2? I'm curious to see how you do it if it's easier than the cross.

Yay for me being the only Petrus user so far to vote? x_X

2x2 blocks are NOT harder than the cross, unless of course you have a really really crappy scramble (which is very very rare). I actually am considering switching to Petrus (I mean, Petrus is such a cool name. It's like tetrus but better)!

Maybe I'm just bad at making it optimal, but I often take the full 15 seconds to find a 2x2x2 block I like.

Maybe being color neutral would help a lot.

Roux method......

imo out of the two petrus is a fun method, but it takes a while to get good at block building

Sorry I'm used to a wicked inactive forum, I just wanted to know what people prefer is all. haha jesus you all resemble metalheads ranting on band pages. If you've ever seen a "true metalhead" you know just what I mean. They bash the crap out of everything when it's not required.

Anyway I don't have trouble with the cross, it's just that I did it for a year and I'm disgutingly tired of it. Petrus is just kind of more interesting to me.

Oh I'll be sure not to post generic things again, I just really wanted to give it a wirl.(I'm new here)

I think it's safe to say that Petrus is way more fun to solve with than Fridrich. Roux is pretty fun too though and no cube rotations is always a plus. So if I ever stop using Petrus (lol, yeah right) I'm going to Roux.
