Problem getting below 70 seconds

Out of curiosity, I just tried doing a solve with absolutely no fingertricks but all wrist turns only. (It was really annoying having to move my entire hand to a different face to turn it and having to do cube rotations to make turning possible.) I got 30.38.

You don't always need to listen to tutorials when they say "you should be ~x seconds" and stuff like that. I think the main reason they say that is because usually it helps understanding if you have more experience and it is possible to get that fast without their information. But if you understand the tutorials then there is no reason to not start applying the tricks right away. Start with Badmephisto's videos on youtube.

As for fingertricks, they are "hand"-y, but you will find that they come naturally after a while as you practice. Be patient. You will get there. Enjoy the process.

It may not be your fingertricks, but instead your algorithms which are not very 'fingertricky' (i.e. not easy to do quickly). You may want to look at my 4LLL guide on my website (link in my sig); those are the algorithms that I used and still use now over a year and a half later.

Haha... I know. But I haven't practiced my wrist turning style. I was just curious what would happen with me personally without fingertricks.

shengshou 3x3 is not really a good cube, however good enough to get you sub a minute at least. .

The shengshou aurora is great. Many fast people use them.
