I made this clip several days ago. Mainly I'm a CFOPer and I got to be interested in Roux half year ago. I've got over sub20 a month ago and reach an average of sub17. But I then find it confused how to make it faster. Here are some of my questions:
1. Should I begin to practice thinking of the whole first block in the pre-folding time? But I find it very confusing to do that and the steps are too long. Using the approaches in those basic guide of Roux are very hard to reduce the length, which also makes me harder to remember the whole algs to do the first block.
2. I still can't form an effective way for the transition between 4a, 4b and 4c. Can anyone give me some advice?
3. Are those great Rouxer able to recognize CMLL in all orientations? Or at least 2?
I think the clip can help explaining the questions above. And I hope to get some advice from other people.

I was a Roux solver and switched back to CFOP. I learned Roux from Donovan(Lubix Cube) and http://rouxtorial.webs.com/ . I think TPS can be incorporated.I used to time each and every step of the method separately. Check out 5BLD and Waffo's channel.:)

In fact I got over sub20 after I read and applied in the first block the basic skills in the site you wrote. It's useful, but I think it's not enough to get faster. I've been trying to figure out the whole 1st block, but I just can't save turns and seldom succeed.
BTW, I'm not sure what does TPS mean. I'm a chinese player, so I'm not that familiar to in those specific expressions. Also could you give me the link to 5BLD and Waffo's channel? Much THX~

TPS means turns per second, a measurement of how fast you turn.

2. I'm a bit slower than you, so my tips may be completely ridiculous, but I've really improved my step 4 by:
a.Learning how to cycle the EO cases rather than algorithmically. This allows you to look ahead and track the UL and UR pieces (though for a six-flip and four-flip I use a memorized alg)
b. Really made my M U technique fingertricky with unorthodox pushing and pulling and use of my left hand in strange ways
c. Turned as fast as I could without losing track of important pieces.
