[Help Thread] Advice and Tips for Competitions

I think you should have titled this "Any tips on how to not get nervous?" to make it a little easier to understand (I thought you were wondering why you do not get nervous, which is the opposite of the point of this thread).
Anyhow, people say cubing in public helps. Also going to competitions. Eventually, you let it go, and get used to it. But I don't really have the "right" to say this because I don't cube in public.

The name of the continent that New Zealand is part of has always been called Australia. Not Oceania or Australasia or any of that crap.

No it has not. Anyone that thinks New Zealand is part of the continent of Australia has absolutely no understanding of continents and how they are defined.

Competition advice?

Hi everybody,

I am entering my first competition in a few months. My Avg5/PB isn't very good (36.24 and 33.27 respectively), so I'm not expecting anything huge from myself. But do you guys have any tips/advice to prepare (like I am planning on learning full PLL by the competition in March) and/or not publicly shame myself with a 50+ second solve?

Dont cram algs. You may forget them and completely embarass yourself. (Like this person)

Make sure your cubes are ready. (Lubed, tensioned, all caps glued in)

Pretend you are just practicing at home.

Dont try any sort of move or alg you are not 100% sure on.
