I feel I'm way too slow...

I already know advanced cross, intuitive F2L, and 4LLL. My average is around 1:20, but considering how techncally advanced I am, I feel I should be much faster (like sub-1:00). My F2L is slowing me down. Any tips on making it faster?

BTW anyone know any good cubes and online cube stores?

Thanks in advance

Practice. Honestly, you could probably be reducing your times right now by practicing...

Just give it time dude, my best suggestion: Don't time yourself! For some reason it always makes me feel discouraged. If you want to consciously improve I highly suggest working on full PLL, that will count down atleast a few seconds for you. Good luck!

Actually, I would advise against learning full PLL at this point. I'd work on your F2L until you're at least sub 60. If I were you I wouldn't start learning full PLL until I was at least sub 40 but that's just me. F2L is more important imo.

I strongly disagree, I learned nearly full PLL started at about 75 seconds, it dramatically reduced my times, my guess is because it helped me understand the cube a little more. And I say nearly full PLL cuz I'm still learning it lol.

Wait, if F2L is still slowing you down, you just learned it (fact). Keep practicing, you'll get there. If you read the "How to be Sub-20" Thread, it specifically says you will be crappy for a while, maybe three or four weeks, then your times will shoot down.

Learning intuitive F2L will give you a better understanding of how the cube works better than anything else, F2L will also drop you times the most and Practice its always an amazing thing.

As for cubes Aplha V is the best cube imo, but alot of people like the F-II, and for stores try this or this.

1. advanced cross? by this do you mean x-cross? Regardless, try and understand the cube, so you can solve multiple edges of the cross. Just practice solving your cross with no pause.

2. intuitive f2l? Work towards fluidity. You shouldn't really be using "intuition" per se. It should be automatic. Start off by making less pauses.

3. 4LLL? Drill your algs until you have smooth execution.

What you need is pure practice. Less pauses. Don't force or rush the solve. Aim for minimal lockups.

But, if you want sub-1 this is easily achievable with the beginner method and keyhole f2l.

good cubes; basically F-II is my favorite, but I have found the Shenshou cube, and AIII are quite good as well. Popbuying.com has all these cubes which I will personally vouch for.

Good luck. If you need extra help, feel free to PM me.

At this point, I'd just practise F2L like crazy.

If by advanced cross you mean that you can see where the cross pieces need to go in a matter of a few seconds, then good on you :).
Make sure you solve cross where it is easiest for you to look ahead to your F2L. ComPLETEly plan all the moves for your cross so you don't need to focus on the cross pieces when solving them. This time will be spent looking ahead for the first F2L pair.

I started out with Dan Brown's method and didn't start speedsolving the cube until I was down to 35 seconds, still with the DB method. It wasn't until I got to 35 seconds that I switched to Fridrich. Lesson: if one can get speedy solves with a slower method, he can get faster with a faster method.
Sure, it'll take time. Practise like crazy. CRAZY.

What not to do:
Do NOT focus on the last layer at this point--that'll come easily to you after your F2L is fluid, solid, and virtually pauseless. Metronome it if necessary.

That's about it from me.

I would say work on understanding the cube. Try different methods. Fewest moves solve; blockbuild. Then you will quickly see things and find out how to solve them. Also, try to learn to look at a pair, and then solve it blindfolded. Then, do the same but look for the next pair.

Just keep practicing. Watch a couple of badmephisto's videos and do about an AO12 a day. And remember that you are faster than alot of people.

i averaged under a minute using beginners method, its legit just a matter of practice, dont need anything fancy for getting that fast

I disagree. You wanna know why my TPS is so crappy and my LL is so crap too? I didn't do any kind of LL practice. Yeah, F2L is very important, but I feel the importance LL is a bit overshadowed.

I would say Learn the algs first. Then, while getting F2L, the alg speed and recognition will come too. 2 headshots with one bullet ^^.

This is kinda true. I used to only practice F2L. It came to a point when I was around 18-19 seconds, my F2L was 10s and my LL was around 9 :(

But practicing fluidity during LL doesn't take that much work ;)
