I have devised a method to solve even cubes, but I have some questions...

Requirements
How to Solve a Void Cube
How to solve a 3x3x3
Good short term memory

Suggested
How to Solve a 5x5x5 (For easier edge pairing)

Steps
1.Edge pair
2.Solve Like A void cube
3. Remember were each of the centers should be, thus avoiding parity caused by misplacing centers
4.Solve centers in correct location
5.Re-pair broken edge groups
6.Solve like a 3x3x3

So, since my V6 is in pieces my questions are
1.Will it work? (Even if the time isnt great)
a.And if not, what actually causes the parity?
2. Is it fast enough for competition use?
Thanks

The permutation of "centers" only affects permutation parity, and PLL parity takes all of 5 seconds to do, so it's obviously not worth all the effort of pairing and solving edges. You also can't avoid OLL parity this way, and that's the worse parity anyway. My advice is to just solve normally and learn the two parity algs... your times will be way faster than with this method.

OLL is the one I cant memorize.
Thanks for the information, and also what actually causes OLL parity?

Another failed idea. :(

OLL parity can still be created in this step. The OLL parity is not caused by centers or pairing edges, but by a total of an odd number of inner slice quarter turns having been done counting the scramble and the moves you do to solve centers/pair edges or whatever you start your step with.

No, your proposed method will not avoid OLL parity by pairing edges first. You could still find later on that the OLL parity exists in your solve.

I didn't think I could either, until I drew this diagram (attached).

It is how I memorized this 25 BQTM alg:
r2 B2 U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 F2 r F2 l' B2 r2

The --> stands for r
The --> with a line going through it stands for r'
The <-- stands for l
The <-- with a line going through it stands for l'
The down arrow stands for B
The up arrow stands for F
The circle stands for U2

The red dots and curved red arrows only show you how to read it from start to finish.

also what actually causes OLL parity?
An odd number of inner-slice turns from, say, a solved cube state. You really seal whether you will get parity after you complete the centers.

Thanks, I think a lightbulb went off in my head

the easiest way to fix parity is to do (r U2)*5 then fix the 4 edge groups you just messed up. for a beginner who doesn't feel like memorizing a lengthy and confusing algorithm it's probably the best option.
