I was just throwing the design out there.Interesting idea, but the text is too colorful for my taste, and I do like how the current logo emphasizes the "& Other Puzzles" by for instance having pictures of other things there too.
What else will we be able to fit into 32x32 pixels? Also, for the icon, do you intend to just use a solved 3x3?
I like the text... but the puzzles just dont look right lined up side-by-side.
+1Ew, it's a Chinaminx. Seeing a 1990s sq1 is pretty weird too, and the V-cube is a bit blurry I guess. Would it be possible for someone to take a picture of a few things (say, pyraminx, mefferts minx, v5) next to each other on a white background, so we could use that for a logo?
I have all those cubes, but how white does the background need to be? I have like a speckled wall, or I guess I could tape up some paper behind them...
I'm pretty bad with the whole design thing, so can I just take it with my mac Isight Camera, or do I need a high megapixel camera, or any other things I should take into consideration before posting the picture...
Thanks for offering up your puzzles and mighty picture-taking skills.
Try to make the background as white as possible. If you open the current logo in a new tab, you can see the the diagonal lines aren't there, whereas they are there when you view it in the page. So I will most likely remove the white background so that the pinstripes will show through.
Don't worry about resolution, but depending on how high the quality of the pictures are(I've never heard of a Mac Isight, I'm assuming its a webcam) you might want to use a higher res camera. But they don't really have to be that high resolution, because the pics will be scaled down to about 95x95 pixels anyway.![]()
