Cubench (Android timer) now supports smart cubes: looking for people to help test it

Hi all!

Some of you might know Cubench (formerly Nano Timer), the Android timer I've been developing since 2014. It's free, open source and has no ads, with over 150K downloads. It handles every WCA puzzle, custom scrambles (OLL, PLL, F2L, last layer...), solve types to keep separate histories, multi-step timing, blind mode, sessions, averages, history, graphs, and more.

I've been working hard over the past months to add smart cube support to it (GAN, MoYu and QiYi) and offer these new features:
  • A live 3D cube and a full reconstruction of every solve: cross, each F2L pair, OLL and PLL that recognizes the algorithms you used
  • Per-case stats for OLL, PLL and F2L, and a list of the algorithms you know
  • Drills: OLL/PLL/F2L cases, a cross trainer, and a learning mode for new algorithms
  • The scramble follows your turns and catches mistakes
  • Automatic start/stop/+2/DNF (optional)
  • Blind solves reconstruction and error detection
It isn't released yet, and I would love for it to go through more hands before the release.

I'm also working on an AI coach, which you can try for free from inside the beta app. Once a week, it reads and analyzes your own solves and writes a personalized plan: what's costing you the most time, what to practice, which algorithms to learn next and in what order, with actionable drills. It's based on your actual numbers.

Interested in trying it? Send me a PM with the email of your Google Play account and whether you also would like access to the coach, and I'll add you to the test version on Google Play.

Happy to answer any questions!

I would love to test but im too broke to have a smart cube
QiYi does some pretty cheap and decent quality ones, but I'd still recommend getting one with a gyro if possible, it unlocks things like much better solve reconstruction (with cube rotations, slice and wide moves) and also all the drills that aren't super convenient to use without it.

I cant buy since my parents won't allow cause i already got too many cubes(7) and cheap like what? I am from indonesia so i need it in IDR,anything around 70-100k+IDR is considered expensive for me

It's probably more practical that you check the cube stores around your place. I'm from Europe my local cube shops probably don't really apply to your place due to shipping and such.

Do you have a plan make it work on an iPhone?
The app looks quite nice(although I don’t have a smart cube)
I've thought about that, my plan was to first release it officially on Android when I'm confident in its stability and quality, then I'll see how it does and the reception. I think some of these new smart-cubes features are pretty revolutionary, I didn't expect to be able to do as much as I did with it. But the app is coded in pure Java Android (the tech back in 2014 was not what it is now), so not super easily portable, but if the reception is good, I have an idea of how I could eventually port it to web and I could consider iPhone as well.
