I wanted to know the criteria to define a speedcuber as washed up

  • How many years of not breaking records makes a cuber washed up?
  • Does comp frequency or PR breaking frequency define if the cuber is washed up?
  • How many years after the peak of the cuber and still active competing does a cuber become washed up?

In my personal case, my peak happened in 2018, my last PRs happened in 2022, my last NR was in 2023, and I attend around 20 comps a year. I definitely consider myself as completely washed.

When someone quits cubing is the closest you can get to washed imo, as tbh cubing shouldnt be just about the results.

Ofc tho people can still have a peak in their cubing career.

How did u get a NR in 2023 but your last PR was in 2022 ? Do you mean PB ?

It appears to me that you like to create posts that stir up some sort of controversy when there is nothing there in the 1st place. To be honest I find this post somewhat insulting. Not sure if you're just rambling random thoughts in your head or if you're just trying to stir, or just get your post count up. But as a moderator I expect a little better from you.

I think a former world class cuber who stopped cubing woukx be considered washed. There are cubers such as Dylan Wang, Yu Nakajima, Zbignew Zbrowski, and Lucas Etter (sadly).
