So uh I’ve fallen off cubing due to school sports and gaming. SMBW and MCSR goes crazy.
But Imma get back on the grind for mega again trust. I want to get to 10k solves before the end of the school year, which for me is late June. That’s also when I want to be sub-50 and getting more sub-40 singles.

Guys I might quit mega (for some time) for learning ZB. I’m not joking.
I’ll learn zbls first as it’s easier (imo) than zbll since it’s more intuitive and I can find a lot of the solutions myself. Then I’ll go T, U, L, Pi, H, and then Sunes last.
During this time I’ll also work on my cross and F2L solutions and work on making those steps more efficient/have better finger tricks.

I’m eating my own words here but ZBLS is not intuitive. I’ve spent some time messing around with different solutions for different cases and my solutions are not that great compared to what are on PDFs and whatnot.
As someone who know's a decent chunk of ZBLL (but albeit not much ZBLS):

ZBLL is best learned if you do it quickly, and in large quantities. There isn't really a point of trying to go slow and steady with it. I recommend learning at least 6 cases a day. That way you can finish a set in about 2 weeks, and spend the 2 weeks after that drilling the set down, with a total time spent of about a month per set.
Frankly, I have no idea how to go about learning ZBLS. I know there are some PDF's/sheets out there that have decent algs, so maybe experiment with those, but I'm afraid I can't really help you here.

Good luck with your journey learning ZB though. I'm planning on starting to learn ZB again in January or February (I have other stull to work on before then), and maybe spending 2 - 3 months finishing up T and L, along with about half of ZBLS. I'll finish up the other half of the ZB method after worlds.

I swapped U and T in my zbll learning order, but I’m proud to say I have finished 1 set of U zbll! 5 more to go… weee.
I took a break this week because I was a bit burnt out on cubing, but now I’m back to grinding the zblls.
Yay! Great minds must think alike, because I finished my first two sets of U zbll today! If you need a zbll buddy, I’d be happy to help you zbll faster!

Yessir! Where are you learning ZBLL from? I’m learning from speedcubingdb
I’m learning from a combo of Max Siauw’s series and Brina Sun’s (some of these algs are faster for me personally). After I watch the videos and find the algs I like, I go on to bestsiteever.ru to train these algs until I have the recognition competent down for every case

I’m using CSTimer to help train my recognition. I just choose what cases I want to drill and keep doing that until I feel confident.

I started the ZZ grind. Why? I can maintain EO for the entire solve and not have to do ZBLS. It's the cost of being 3-4 seconds for now wtih practicing a "new" method vs having to memorize 300+ algs for last slot.
@Swagrid what variation of zz is it where I just do EO in the beginning and proceed with the solve as if it were normal CFOP? Would that be a beginner ZZ or...

That falls into the category of ZZ-a, or at least, a ZZ-a variant. I believe the traditional method would use EOLine, but EOCross is just objectively optimal and you should use it plz. If you use the full method, then the solve ends with a ZBLL 100% of the time, but using OLL-PLL, COLL-EPLL, and partial ZBLL-PLL is also fine with the method

5 years ago, I’ve learned how to solve a Rubik’s cube. Now, I have a sub-10 average in comp. Not the craziest thing in the world, but great for me. I would like more time to continue pursuing my goals, but I have other interests that I feel as though they will make me more successful, like school, running and Minecraft. Some things are hard to let go, but you need to in order to be successful in life. That’s why I’m going to retire from practicing and getting better in cubing. Will I do solves once in a while? Sure. But I have other goals in life that becoming a pro cuber would take too much time for. So this is where I’m at in life, and it’s been fun while it lasted. I will still collect puzzles once in a while, but my goal, as mentioned, is to no longer get better. Happy cubing to everyone else tho!
Signing off for now,

I wish you good luck in your future, even if cubing won't be a huge part in it anymore!
