Hey Guys! Garf here, and I'm excited to announce that I will be hosting a unique competition that I hope will be a success. My goal is to attempt to unite all big cube solvers in one comp, and also introduce some new people to the world of big cube solving. I should start by introduce the events that I will be hosting:

-4x4
- 5x5
- 6x6
-7x7
- 2-5 relay
- 2-6 relay
- 2-7 relay
*Team 2-7

These might be a lot of events, but they will consist of several big cubes, and several relays that have big cubes in them. So to make solving easier, I will organize events in the order the scrambles will be released in this way:

* 4x4 Scrambles and 5x5 Scrambles (ao5 + ao12 [for extra points] format) : September 13th, 2024
*Scrambles for team 2-7 relay (bo2 attempt) September 13th, 2024
* 6x6 and 7x7 scrambles (ao5 format) : September 20th, 2024
* 2-5 Relay scrambles (bo2 format): September 27th, 2024
* 2-6 Relay scrambles (bo2): October 4th, 2024
* 2-7 Relay scrambles (bo2): October 11th, 2024
*Last team 2-7 day for submission: October 14 2024
* Winner announcement: October 16th, 2024
*Prizes sent: Sometime in November, depending on funds at the time and availability of products on TheCubicle.

As you might notice, each scramble set will be released on the Friday of each week. It will me a while to organize times and figure out leaderboards (since I'm a busy guy and I'm sure you guys are busy as well) so I will allow a week to submit results before the next scramble set for maximum points.

Now I mentioned points, but how are events scored? I'll try to explain the best I can:
- You get 1 point for just competing in the event.
- Podiums get the following points: 5 for 1st, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, and the rest get 1. Podiums get scored based on the FIRST ao5 in the average, not the best ao5.
- For those competing in the ao12 format, your FIRST ao5 is the one that counts to gain the point. For those wanting to do the ao12 format, you gain an extra 1 point for your score.
- If you want to record a video of your attempts, you can earn 3 points if you do so.
*If you guys have any idea how I should add opportunities to score points let me know.

Now you've earned all these points, but what do they mean for winning? Well, 1st place winner that has the most points will win a free Benmajin plushie (when I get my hands on one) or a mystery puzzle of 25 dollars. 2nd will get $20 of mystery puzzles, and 3rd will get $15 of mystery puzzles. I think this is the first funded comp that I've seen or done in a while, so hopefully this will encourage people to compete and enjoy.

I will be competing in all events, but I won't be part of the podiums.

Edit:
Guys I’m adding an extra event to be able to earn points, but you do have to collaborate with one other competitor. It’s a team 2-7 relay, and this one has to be a vid. Basically, you and one other competitor (you can choose me IG) will do a virtual call and have a video running, and will choose what cubes you will do for the run. For example, let’s say that @gsingh and @NebraskanSpeedsolver were doing it. They would be in a call. Now, say that gsingh did 2, 3 and 6 and nscube did 4, 5 and 7. You can be solving at the same time as another person, making the relay be twice as fast (I hope).

anyway, that’s an extra 5 points if you are interested in that idea. I will release scrambled for this first, but this event can be submitted anytime before the competition ends.

Also if you guys would like to help me with the comp, such as funding prizes or organizing the comp, dm me and we can discuss it.
I'll try to fund all the prizes, and I will make sure that everyone who wins a prize will get their prize. But if you are still interested in helping, that would be helpful to me (and my bank account).
Not that I can't afford all the prizes but you know stonks.

everyone get out of the way, I'm competing. put me down for everything cuz i'm buying a 7x7 and a new 6x6 tomorrow (so shut up Corey). Great idea for a comp (I believe the last funded comp was mine in which the prize was a cube bag, but this is way different and way bigger). GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR yall are going down.

Just curious, how do 1x1 skills transfer to big cubes like 7x7?
